Description

Decent substitute for the Free-Slide track system
Bought this 1/7/23; I had installed ClosetMaid's Free-Slide which is great for closets. I was installing 12 shelves in the utility room in our new home. I was a little skeptical of the interlocking method with the top rail compared with the angle system of the Free-Slide system but it really does interlock securely to transfer the weight to the top rail. The finish was very thick with no scratches which with how they are stored at the store proved to me that it was a good paint job not to be scratched up. I would recommend system as it looks good when installed and seems very sturdy.

Versatile for Closet
Attached to the studs, these uprights aren't going anywhere. I did not use the top cross member, just leveled them up when screwing them on the wall. Strong and give you the opportunity to change your mind on vertical spacing unlike the other style that screw on once.

using with wire shelving
If you use this to mount a wire shelf, you cant use the support bracket. I used an uprite every 16” fir the studs. Then added the rod 36383 with the 36853 hangers. This is enough support for the rod. I cut everything to length, since the space was 67 1/2” and it worked out well. But the 16” shelf will not work hung this way with the 1053599 support brackets mounted to uprites.

Excellent shelving alternative
First, I would not recommend this wire shelving system for bookcases UNLESS you are prepared to add some sort of solid material on top to keep books from slipping out. That said, for almost every other application this stuff is terrific. For closets and laundry rooms, for pantries and kitchen storage Closet Maid is tops. I strongly recommend the entire system!

Easy shelving
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this design. It is easy to install this adjustable shelving, and it looks great. Also, I just used a couple 30 inch uprights to mount a flat-panel TV in my work area. Sometimes a part can be used in ways other than original intentions.

Closet maid White shelving upright
