Ce coupe-bordures unique Power+ de marque EGO est le premier coupe-bordures doté de la technologie POWERLOAD(MC). Cette technologie en instance de brevet constitue une réponse à l'une des problématiques les plus importantes des coupe-bordures, la technologie POWERLOAD enroulant automatiquement le fil de votre coupe-bordure. La recharge du coupe-bordure nécessite simplement d'alimenter la tête d'un fil de coupe et d'appuyer sur le bouton d'alimentation! Le coupe-bordures EGO Power+ de 15 pouces est doté d'un manche en fibre de carbone, plus solide que tout autre manche disponible actuellement sur le marché. Will I need a lawn edger accessory? And this kit (trimmer + blower) appears to come with a battery can you please confirm? I have an Ego lawn mower but don't want to swap batteries between too many devices if at all possible. Thanks!

Best investment I ever made
I have owned three gas powered string trimmers in my life, and being very frustrated with the last one I ventured to purchase this new electric Ego Power string trimmer. I am IN LOVE with this new trimmer! It makes much less noise, starts immediately with a press of a button and no struggling with a choke and pulling a start cord. It's much lighter than my gas trimmer, and has MORE power,
and the auto feed of the string line is a blessing and saves me a lot of time (and profanity). I wasted so much time restringing my old gas trimmers and this Ego Power does the job in SECONDS! I HIGHLY recommend this trimmer.

BE CAREFUL /WARRANTY DROPPED AT 90 DAYS
I have had two trimmers from EGO. My first was in 2016..Loved it unlike my STHIL (that I could cut a tree down with). But would shake for the next 3 days, lol. The problem is that while you may THINK that you have a warranty...they state that it is only for 90 Days on parts, even if you pay extra for an extended warranty. A Company that doesn't stand behind their products isn't worth the time as I now wait for over 2 hours after telling them that I won't stand for this. Better than I expected
I originally purchased this trimmer to maintain weeds around my house. However, I do have an area that I had let become overgrown and had not touched it the past 2 summers. I decided to put the EGO trimmer to the test, but I did not expect it to have enough power to handle this area. The trimmer did not back down from this challenge, I run my weed eaters pretty hard and this trimmer tore through the weeds quickly and effectively. I recommend this trimmer, but I would have to say it is a good idea to get the 5ah battery or have a second battery on hand. I bought the trimmer and leaf blower both with batteries so I can have a spare.

residential use for 1-1/2 summers in texas
I purchased in 8/2020 and used until October 2020. Then again used from 5/2022 intil October 2021 . Remind you that it was not used every week or every other week, but when i felt like edging or trim alond fence or trees. Should be 5/2021 to October 2021. I have used approximately for total of 9 months and used a dozen timesand the warranty does not cover the head of the trimmer. Ego considers this a disposable item and has only a 90 day warranty on it. So now if i want to continue its use , i have to replace the head because the line keeps gettin jammed and i now spend more time unjamming and refeeding line more than actually using the trimmer? So beware and be prepared to replace the head on this trimmer in a very short time and out of warranty

Great reload feature but . . .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have all the Ego tools from chain saw to snow blower even had the string trimmer but decided to splurge on the new POWERLOAD Carbon Fiber. Great tool except the engineers who signed off on the variable speed trigger must not use string trimmers much. The new trimmer is not really variable speed like the old model. The new one is basically two speeds - fast and faster with nothing much in between. The thing I liked most about the old one was the slow speed variable control for going around fences and flowers. If I knew the new model was not as capable when it comes to variable speed would probably not have purchased it. Hoping for a fix.

Finally, a real solution to trimming and edging
I have had corded electric and gas string trimmers for decades. I have found them all so very frustrating that I sold my last one for dirt cheap and did without for over a year. Finally, I found a trimmer that I actually enjoy using! It does an amazing job, the string doesn't break off easily, the powerload works simply, the engine is quiet and powerful, and the battery lasts for the entire job. I don't smell like gas/oil. I couldn't be happier. I use it to edge and trim a 2/3 acre yard with sidewalks, fencing, mulch beds, and street curbs. I plan to purchase other Ego products and reuse this powerful battery.

Set your expectations low.
Two large issues: the strength of the shaft connection. It's weak. You have to baby this product. #2: The battery does not come close to the performance marketed here. Mine is dead in less than 5 years. It never ran for the promised 40 minutes before it needed a charge. I will say for the 20 minutes it did run between charges, it is every bit as powerful as your average gas-fueled trimmer. So that's in the plus column. Like all string trimmers, loading new string is a huge pain in the butt. The main reason for my low score is the value proposition. The product promises a lot, and charges a premium, but in the end doesn't deliver. That's a mortal sin for a product.

I bought this as the combo with the blower. The blower worked very well for what it is. The weed wacker on tbe other habd is the worst ive ever used. I wanted to slam it on the ground within the first five minutes. It will not keep string on it. I tried several times even chabged to string for a new roll. No luck. Youll make it ten feet and the line disapears inside the head. After the ten time in 30 mintes i boxed it back up and took ot back to the store. The trimmer also starts off strong for the first 30 seconds then tne power gets really weak. Maybe i got a bad one but ill never find out. No more EGO for me. Ill try other brands or gas.
