La couche de finition protectrice Crayeuse de Rust-Oleum(MD) est une couche claire qui s'applique sur la peinture Crayeuse Ultra Matte. Plus facile à appliquer que les cires pour meubles traditionnelles, elle apportera protection et durabilité à votre revêtement, tout en rehaussant sa couleur. Appliquez-la sur toute surface crayeuse pour plus de durabilité. Ce produit n'a pas besoin d'être réappliqué. Usage intérieur seulement.

What type of brush to use with chalked protective coating?

Our Chalked Matte Clear Protective Topcoat should be applied with a good synthetic brush (roller
application not recommended).

Will break your nerves every which way.
Absolutely awful to apply...sure it looks good when its finished (if you haven't tossed the piece of furniture your painting on your lawn before then). I have no idea why it tells you to apply with a brush and not a roller unless streaky furniture is your main objective. Applying the clear finish was the worst part of all! Its like applying wet glue and took the paint off with it in tiny areas (and yes I let the paint dry for over a day before applying) Dont bother with this if working on a large project it will break your nerves every which way.

Does not protect from oil stains
I recently transformed my kitchen with the Country grey chalk paint and sealed it with the matte clear coat. It’s been nothing but problems. It’s been less then a week and I already have several stains from cooking oils etc.. I also used this to seal my top cabinets which I painted white and they turned yellow after 4 coats of white linen chalk paint. A complete waste of time and money. Will most likely have to strip 3 weeks of work and use latex paint or oil based paint.

Don't risk ruining your project
I purchased this to protect the linen white chalked paint that I used to re-finish my grandfather's 100-year old wood desk. It knew it was going to be a labour intensive project and I wanted my work to last, so was extra cautious about my preparation and making sure that I followed the directions on the paint cans I used to the letter. I even went the extra mile of applying two coats of stain blocking primer underneath my chalked paint, despite the fact that Rustoleum says that primers are unnecessary when using this particular paint. I worked for three days and it was looking great-- until I added this matte clear topcoat. Within 30 minutes of applying my first coat, I was slowly watching my newly white desk turn orange. I called Rustoleum the next morning; they told me that this is a KNOWN ISSUE with this paint, and that when using the clear top coat on light chalked paint colours, you need to let the paint cure for 7 days before applying the top coat to avoid this sort of colour change. The infuriating thing was that despite Rustoleum knowing that this is an issue, they DO NOT MENTION IT ANYWHERE-- not in directions on the can, or in the FAQs on their website. The only way you can know this is a problem is by experiencing it for yourself, right at the end of your project. In the end, I had to start again; strip off all the chalked paint, re-prime, re-paint, re-seal. It took four extra days. I used Valspar paint this time and the finish has turned out beautifully, top coat included. Lowe's accepted my return when I took the chalked paint and matte clear top coat back, but I will never use this product, or Rustoleum paints, again.

Je l'ai utilisé plusieur fois auparavant, toujours
Vraiment très décue de mon achat pour le vernis mat de Rustoléum, j'ai perdu plus de la moitié du 887ml, il y avait vraiment beaucoup de gros mottons tout collés, je ne sais pas pourquoi, je n'ai pas pu terminer mon projet!

Très décevant
J'ai peinturé une commode en bois avec de la peinture à la craie. Déjà là, je trouvais le résultat très moyen, même après 2 couches. Ensuite j'ai appliqué ce vernis et surprise! La peinture s'en allait en appliquant le vernis. J'ai maintenant un certain look vintage... Sans le vouloir. De plus, il y avait des grumeaux blancs dans le pot et lorsque j'essayais de les enlever délicatement avec mes doigts, la peinture partait aussi. Finalement, j'ai dépensé beaucoup d'argent pour pas grand chose.

Strips the paint not seal it
Painted a bedframe, it was perfect, then used this top coat and could of cried when I saw it stripping the paint. The tin was full of clumps. I wish I had just left it the way it was.

DO NOT use chalk paints on REAL wood!!!
It will just bring you grief!! But a quality latex paint & a good primer & you'll be waaaay better off! I stripped, sanded down to the bare wood and still there was bleeding So, ?5 coats of chalk paint & tons of work as all spindle legs on an antique gate leg table & I had to sand that all off, undercoat & then I used the latex paint & it turned out great! Maybe chalk works on shiny products but not on real wood!

Top coat is terrible
Painted the bottom half of a large coffee table with rustoleum chalk paint...they encouraged that you use their matte top coat for added protection. My piece looked great until I added the topcoat. What a disaster...it left yellow streaks everywhere as well as pulling the paint off in areas . So annoyed....have to sand down and redo. Do not buy this product!!
