The Product Overview says that this is made of Acacia wood. However, the specifications lists the material as laminate. What is this countertop made of?
The thickness is 1.5 inches, but this is made up from 2 layers of 3/4 inch boards, glued together. There is also a 3/4 inch border around the outside. I believe the whole thing is made of Acacia wood.

Acacia countertop
The product came in great condition, but unfortunately they decided to use tape to hold the product description on, which is completely unnecessary. After reading the first review, I tried to carefully peel the tape off, but to no avail. The tape actually peeled off part of the countertop, so I had to put that side down. It also scratches very easily. We knew this going in, as we are using it in our laundry room. 2 stars

Disappointed
So disappointed. Beautiful to look at but not great quality. Firstly, after removing the large Leadvision label we found a huge scratch that is too deep to sand off behind it. After closer inspection, we found more scratches, cracks and dents. Second, the tape used to secure the label stuck to the wood and took a very long time to remove after trying with water and eventually sandpaper. Third, the wood is so soft that it scratches or dents with the slightest touch. Even laying on painters pyramids left multiple dimples. Not sure what can be done.
