Old House Chrome Bath fittings
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an old house that needed its bath tub and wash basin valve stems repaired. The hot wash basin faucet was leaking thru the top of the bell housing. Over time, lime and soap residue had accumulated and was not removable with scraping. I put the faucet and the bell housing in a bath of CLR and immediately noticed residue floating to the top. After soaking for about 3 hours, the chrome looked as good shiny and bright.
Also, our handheld shower nozzle will clog from the mineral deposits. After soaking in CLR, the deposits will loosen and and the residue can be brushed away easily.

CLR product work great.
My kitchen sink, showers and water hose sprayer attachment were all clogged with lime. I could not brush them out or use a pick to make them spray like new. I put the CLR in a small bucket along with all of my sprayers. I seen fizz immediately as the product began to eat through the lime. Half an hour later I check on everything. The water hose sprayer still had some fizz so I left it in longer. The others I reinstalled and tested them out. Just like new they had no problems spraying anymore. I had the same results with the water hose sprayer after it was done fizzing.

Good Product
Works great for removing discoloration in toilet. dump it all in before work and let it sit and soak all day. Come home and flush the toilet...requires no scrubbing....removes all that junk discoloration that accumulates inside toilet bowl.

I have used CLR on so many things from removing rusted tools to cleaning faucet screens that have years of build up, to cleaning jewelry. Works every time.

Not recommended on brick and mortar
After having a deck built on my home, the iron railing that was in its place for 40 years left some nasty rust stains on the brick and mortar of the house. I tried CLR first and not only did it do a terrible job of removing the rust, it caused the mortar to start wearing away and removed some of the finish from the bricks despite the fact I only soft plastic bristled brush to scrub the area. The bricks have a veneer which makes them look more like light brown stone than red brick. The area where the CLR was applied is now significantly more red than the rest of the house facade. I'm glad I only used it in one area. I ended up purchasing a rust remover specifically for masonry which worked perfectly without damaging the brick or mortar.

CLR - not what it used to be
I purchased a new bottle of CLR and had used it in the past to remove rust stains in the toilet. I tried this new bottle and was not having much luck. I was puzzled and went looking for my old bottle - I used barely any from the old bottle and removed all the rust with very little scrubbing. Too bad the new is not at all improved - and it's probably due to the EPA standards. Saving my old bottle for the really tough stuff. A normal bleach cleaner did the same as the new bottle.

CLR 28-oz Rust remover
Followed the instructions to remove rust from concrete.. Mixed a 50/50 solution and pored it over the rust stain and it worked partially!! I realized that the "2 minute waiting time" to allow the solution to be absorbed into the concrete, was not long enough.... I also used a brush to try to remove the stain and that helped... But not completely. The rust stain was old and brutal so depending on your situation, let it set longer for this type of scenario ...

Good for what it is advertised for
This product did a fine job of cutting the first layer of what needed to be removed. However, what I really needed was a pumice stone, which finished cleaning the porcelain at the bottom of the toilet.
