This would be fine for a covered patio. It's only about 4-1/2 feet tall and the heat radiates sideways.

Definitely worth the money!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My partner and I purchased this heater 2 years ago for our balcony in Austin, TX during the winter. It definitely kept us warm and it is very nice looking. We moved to Upstate NY a year ago and now we use it for our garage, where we have a sitting area. It works really well on cold days and nights during the spring and fall and during the winter it also makes it much warmer. Everyone that has been to our house says they want one! I would definitely recommend this heater!

Love it!
We bought two of them for our patio. They are slim and nice looking. We don’t have to change the gas-just plug them in and they have a remote control. They give off nice warm heat. We love them.

Excellent for a Small Space
We purchased this heater so that we could use our deck during the evenings a little further into the fall and a little earlier in the spring. We have had it out a couple of times now as our Calgary evening temperatures are coming down to about 5C/41F. So far, we have been very happy with the unit. It is small and light enough that we can keep it inside the back door (i.e. protected from the elements) and only carry it outside when we're using it - this would not be possible with the larger propane units. The heat output has been perfect for two people sitting at a small table. Low/Medium/High settings have been very helpful, depending on the actual conditions. I recommend this heater.
