Unbelievable Easy Charcoal Starter!
I can not believe how easy this makes building a fire or starting the smoker. I fill this up with charcoal, set it on the gas burner, and light it up. After the bottom coals get going I turn off the burner and wait. It gives me a perfectly lit chimney of coals every time. Whether I'm grilling or smoking the Halftime XL Charcoal Starter provides the perfect, no hassle start. I don't know how I got along without it before.

Only lasted 5 months
I got the Halftime XL in February 2021. After ~5 months of use, the metal hinge that holds up the bottom mesh broke. Charcoals are now leaking out from that gap. The lack of durability is disappointing.

I stumbled upon this charcoal starter by accident, I was looking to replace my rusted out starter that I had. I looked at the specifications and was impressed. SS construction, large capacity, claims to start coals in half the time. ( I was sceptical about this) but I was proved wrong. This starter is the best one I ever bought! Works great with my lump charcoal and have no problem lighting them. The only thing is that I have to get my bbq meats ready before I start the charcoal starter, its that quick. I recommend you get one.

So worth the money!!!
I purchased my Oklahoma Joe’s Longhorn smoker/propane grill with the side stove burner. It has been a long time since I’ve used charcoal and lately, I’ve been using natural wood charcoal. With the Halftime XL Charcoal Starter, the effort I always hated in starting a fire has been removed. Place your charcoal in the fire cage and place it on top of the side burner. I’m not exaggerating when I say within 10 minutes, you are ready to grill. I love this product and recommend it to everyone.

EASY!
I bought this when I bought my Highland Reverse smoker and it makes charcoal ridiculously easy. Sits down in the smoke chamber burning til ready then easily dumps on top of a load sitting in the basket in the fire box. Handle has not been too hot nor have I had any melting, breaking, or rivet issues. Glad I bought it and replaced my old tall, narrow one.

AMAZING
I bought the chimney this summer and love the product. We use lump charcoal with it and there is lots of room due to it being much wider across the opening. My son uses the chimney to cook his steak with a grill due to the width and heat equal heat distribution. With my smoker it heats up about 2-3 hours of charcoal in a single fill. Should have purchased one of these years ago, giving as gifts to friends who charcoal!

Yeah, it's great
Bought this recently as I wanted a large starter and this gets good reviews everywhere. I was skeptical about the "starts faster" and "less smoke" claims but so far they have been accurate. It also seems to give me longer cook times out of my coals than my.former, traditional starter. It appears very well built although I haven't had it long. It is quite large and very wide. I really like it so far.
