Storage crate or shelf?
I went in to buy shelving for my wife and I's sewing room. Shelving was way too overpriced. Then, there they were, storage crates. Well, the need for shelves brought out the artsy side of me and I immediately saw myself painting it, making painted squares with stitching to make it look like a quilt and the turned it on it's side, and mounted the bottom to the wall. Worked great for a nice shelf for our quilting books. I would have given them a 5, but, they are rough and need lots of sanding. I wouldn't put too much weight on them (15# max.) unless you first put screws in the mounting board. (They are only stapled on.) I'm very happy with the final product.

Wooden crate wall unit
I bought ten of these and stained them with Mission Oak Minwax Polyshade. I grouped them with some horizontal and some vertical, and they made an awesome wall unit for my pottery collection for less than $150. Love it!!

This crate is not 12.5" in width...
I picked up to put vinyl records in the crate. They don't fit in the box so I measure the box and the outside dimension is onyly 12.25". So, the records don't fit. Not happy!

Wood crate
I've been looking for a wooden beer bottle crate for some time now for my homebrew bottles. These work great for both my 32 oz flip tops (12 ea) as well as 16 oz flip tops (24 ea).

light weight wood slat crate
I used it to photograph puppies/kittens for local shelter. Works great for a photo prop. Had to make one small repair, bottom did not support weight of 6 puppies. Staples pulled out, EZ fix.

Dimensions Incorrect
Crate is only 11 3/4 inches wide not 12 1/2. So don't bother buying if you want to put phonograph albums in it. I have to return the two I bought.

Great boxes for most anything
I bought 2 of these crates before. At that time I was remembering the milk crate that my father used when delivering milk in the '50s and '60s. I wanted them for my VHS tapes. The 2 wasn't enough so thought I'd buy some more.
The other reason I wanted them was for grand and great-grandchildren. My idea was to hang them on the wall at different heights for the kids. The plan is still there but it will have to be different than how I thought.
With the few that are left, I'm going to use for my yarn. I have yarn from different projects and it's difficult to go through all the bags. This way I can see them at a glance and see what I want
