Description
Ensemble de transformation pour ventilateur de salle de bain economie de Broan. Comprend un assemblage moteur et une grille blanche. Conçus pour métamorphoser un ventilateur de salle de bain existant. Aucun recâblage ni nouveaux conduits requis. L'ensemble convient aux boîtiers mesurant 8 1/16"x7 3/8" d'ouverture. Certifié HVI. Garantie 1 an.

No, it will not. There are no parts available anymore, that will work with the 688K. The whole fan will have to be replaced, including the housing.

Will this up-grade work for the Broan model # 676-1 bathroom exaust fan
On the box it will list the models that it can replace, look it up and it will tell you if it has your model #

will this replace with a Broan DX90 ? Thank you!
It is not a perfect replacement but it works without too much effort.
I used tin snips to lengthen the rectangular opening so it would fit over the plug receptacle in the main box and trimmed the "leaf" extensions to make them fit the slots in my base box.
Bingo - works perfectly!
Cheaper than a new one and less work because I didn't have to increase the size of the ceiling opening.
Most new fans are 91/4" x 10 1/2 or something.
Didn't want to go there.

will this upgrade work for Broan F650?
Update: after 3 hours of trying YES! BUT, you need to completely disassemble the motors off the old and new fan. Put the fan blades on the new motor, (requires using some new and old bolts as the new motor is larger) then re- mounting it on the old bracket. It didn't require any special tools, just a couple different screwdrivers, a ratchet, and a solid hour or two. Not recommended, but possible!

Brian bath fan upgrade
I have uninstalled two of these now, one in our main floor bathroom and one in the laundry cupboard. The original fans were 50 CFM and this adds a 20% boost which is good for the particular locations as the 50 is a bit light. Also the 50 cfm is discontinued and the replacement box is larger and requires. 4” exhaust pipe . Mine is 3” and the Brian / Nutone tech confirms the 3” pipe is not acceptable as it can cause blow back and not work properly in the smaller pipe. I bought 2 extra of these for future need in case availability becomes an issue.
Call me a Boy Scout but I would rather be prepared than have a major issue going forward.

too good to be true
I replaced 3 bthrm fans with this product because the motor was on it's last leg, this upgrade kit did not fit like it said, even though our old fans were from the same make, we had to make other holes in the housing of the fan to fit this new one and that was very difficult, and had to add more screws to hold it up because it did not snap in like it should have, really frustrating a 10 min fix turned into an hour per fan!!
to make things worse, it's very loud and annoying, it sounds like a helicopter is landing in the bathroom!! I do not recommend this product, call an electrician, he's worth the money!!

Good sucker but not any quieter
I bought this upgrade kit to replace my aging ECF50 (50 cfm 4.0 sones). The installation was a breeze, took less than 10 minutes. The new fan seems to suck a little stronger than the original and the air wooshing noise is a bit quieter. However, now there's a low frequency humming noise from the new motor that wasn't there before so overall loudness is about the same. If you're looking to upgrade for the sake of noise reduction, don't bother. If you're looking for an easy replacement for a failing unit then this is a good low cost option with a good looking grill.

Easy swap out
Easy swap out. Took less than 10 minutes from start to turning the switch back on to ensure it was working.

The old one crapped out and was making some funky noises so was glad I found this kit as I didn't want to climb in to the attic. Took me less than 10 minutes and the fit was perfect! About the same noise level but a great improvement on the air exchange and at my house that's what's more important!

Noisy because washers are on the wrong side.
Bought this to replace an old noisy fan in a 50yo building.
Existing fan came out no problem with a plug cord and 2 screws.
With a combination of the old bracket and new bracket ( plus some additional hardware i had laying around ) i was able to mount it with some self tapping screws into the old housing. I did not use the new housing/plate that it came with.
After install i found it was very noisy. Terribly noisy. Inspecting i found that the bottom of the motor was in contact with the motor mount. I completly took the motor apart and found ask the washers/spacers where on top of the motor and needed to be on the bottom for my setup.
Not sure exactly how this fan was intended to be installed, but with the washers they way they came from factory, the black fan would have to be hanging below the motor for a quiet setup.
I need the black fan above the motor and had to move those washers.
