I am a huge Weber fan. Have had the same Spirit model for over 8 years and minimal issues. I was looking for a pellet grill and decided to give Weber a try despite some of the comments and issues with the grill.
The Smokefire looks great but doesn't work great. I've had good success with the pellet grill for a short cook. However when I'm using it as a smoker, I have had significant issues. For whatever reason, it drops temperature after an hour or so. The last time I used it, I powered it down after the temperature dropped after an hour of cooking baby back ribs. When I turned it on again after I ended up having a huge smokefire from the grill.

important grill maintenance
was having great success and cooking wonderful grilled and smoked items and enjoying the ability to view on my mobile app the status of the items cooking. I recently had problems with the grill loosing the flame and consented tech support and was first directed to change the glow plug. that seemed to work for a short while and then was directed to clean the auger with a shop vac and was informed this should be done after each time you use a full load of pellets. That seems to now have done the job and am now back to enjoying the grill. We consumers need to be informed of this important step to avoid this problem in the future..

Continues to perform
I have had the SmokeFire EX4 for just over a month now and I use it about 4 days a week. It continues to preform for me as advertised. I have used the SmokeBoost for smoking Bacon, I made an amazing Brisket (275 degrees), Chicken Wings (400 degrees), searing Steaks, Chicken, Burgers and Shrimp Skewers (600 degrees) even Pizza (600 degrees). I have really enjoyed the versatility that the EX4 provides. Initially, I had a couple of auger jams and temp. dropped which resulted in a restart but have not had any problems as of late. I have been super pleased with the grill, it replaces one of Weber's top competitor that now sits in the garage.

Not up to Weber standards
Weber is one of the best companies out there and usually makes the best products. I started out with the kettle, have the Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker, and am now on my second Genesis. However, the SmokeFire failed to reach temperature twice (pretty much shut down). The first time customer support spent an hour with me trying to solve the problem. When it happened again, I realized I just couldn't take a chance with an unreliable grill, so arranged for a return. The support and response couldn't have been better, and I am still a loyal Weber fan. In fact I went out and bought a new Genesis II to replace it. They just need to work out the kinks with this new pellet venture.

EX4 stops heating mid cook
Bought the 2nd gen almost a year ago. Worked fine for the first few cooks. I’ve probably used it 15 times total since buying it. For the second time this month it has left me embarrassed with hungry guests staring in disappointment. I changed the glow plug and after one cook it stopped working midway through a smoking session. Auger kept filling burn pot to the point of pellets overflowing from the burn pot. I clean all my grills after EACH use, inside and out. Use the Weber brand pellets. In this case it’s the pit and not the pit master who keeps dropping the ball. Until issue is fixed this is a buy I highly regret. Great hunk of steel for the scrapyard though.

Love my new EX4 Smokefire.
I just received my EX4 Smokefire and have had only one cooking experience on it since we are getting so much rain. It was for Tri-tip, basically slow smoked it with an Espresso coffee rub and then did a reverse sear with a cast iron pan and butter. It was excellent and even my husband and son loved it. I have never used a smoker and was surprised at how easy it was. It was as good or even better then any BBQ restaurant (can't wait to try ribs). I didn't seem to have any problems with it mechanically since it seems that some people have had these. Since it's only my first time, there might be some later on but for now I am very happy with it.

The Swiss Army Knife
I honestly really enjoy this smoker/grill, the things I have smoked have been amazing but on the same hand the things I have grilled have been just as good. It does seem to be a swiss army knife, in that it does low and slow but then can sear at 600 F. Though with honesty it doesn't do the absolute best at both ends of the spectrums but it will still does good enough that nobody will suspect you aren't some kind of a professional.

Fantastic Pellet Grill
I waited over 6 months before posting a review to make sure I thoroughly used it, and this grill is amazing. I've cooked on it at least 30 times and it has worked flawlessly. Low and slow for ribs/pork butts/brisket, at 450 for pizza, and at 600 for steaks. This grill can do it all, and has produced some amazing food. I cook on it at least 2-3 times a week, sometimes more. Like any grill, clean it, keep the pellets dry, and you'll be able to cook anything on it. Bought it in March, and haven't replaced any parts or had a single issue with it. I know there have been mixed reviews, but I can't say enough about this grill
