Description

Do not buy this machine !
I am a contractor for living doing this for 26 years >
I had a bad experience 3 time bought this machine in the past 14 years do not waste your time it only last about 4 years and the engine burn down due to bud house engine made out of plastic . It's not built to last a simple China affordable tools with a German name on " Bosh " not appropriately engineered to last .
Tired of this cheap tools behind what quality should be .
I suggest to Bosh to design a better tools with an aluminum house engine and a worm drive engine this is a toys for apprentice !
Very unsatisfied I would never buy Bosh again !

Just What I Needed
I bought the saw to do a major remodel on my home. I've used it to rip Hardie, plywood, 2x material, PVC boards and such. The built in fence measurement is off about 1/32" but close enough for most things I'm doing to just set it and go. The fence extension and measurement system is also about the same accuracy. Removing the guard and kickback is relatively easy as well as lowering the kerf knife to create joinery. The portability is very useful. I've been very careful when I move it not because it doesn't appear rugged but just because it's a precision device that should be cared for. I did drop it out of my Tundra when attempting to unload it by myself and it survived just fine.

Plastic gears
This is a great portable job site saw in almost every way but one. It’s a pretty big one though. The gears used to raise and lower the blade are made of plastic and WILL break, rendering the saw entirely useless. If they had just made these gears out of metal I would give this saw a five star review.

Acurate out of the box
I got this saw after using an old craftsman that was hard to dial accurate. This saw is a complete difference. I only had to make a couple adjustments like tightening the fence, but didnt have to make any measurment changes. Im getting confident that i only check the fence diference every 5-10 times just to make sure. Being able to move from place to place and store it easily is a hige advantage with all the tools secure to the saw makes it easy to have. Imo i like this fence better than the dewalt saw.

This product was good out out of the box. It was a pleasant surprise to do no adjustments. The extra wide rip size has already helped. I bought this one because the dewalt was not available in my area or online, I have no regrets as of yet.

Bosch 4100xc table saw - EXCELLENT!
I bought the Bosch 4100xc table saw to replace a Delta job site saw that was only five years old but was inaccurate and had a broken, non-fixable fence that Delta has yet to replace. For me, the selection was between this Bosch saw and the DeWalt 7491rs which is also very highly rated. Frankly, it was a difficult choice. I liked the rack & pinion fence of the DeWalt but not its cart design. The Bosch, I think, has better build quality, a better stand that is much easer to move around my small shop, and the fence while not rack/pinion is quite good and very accurate. Since I bought it, I have used to to rip and cross cut 1-1/2 inch thick while oak using a Diablo blade I already had, and it worked though that test quite well. My concern about the rather low rpm rating (approx 3,800/min.) were blown away, as it seems to have lots of power to do the job. I do have two small complaints: (1) the miter gauge, while better than found on most similar table saws, is not up to the quality of the rest of the saw and is sloppy in the slots. I replaced it with better one from Rockler. (2) The dust collection is only fair, in my opinion. I think Bosch should find a better way to isolate the dust generation area so that more of it goes into the vacuum port.
In total, I'm very pleased with the Bosch 4100xc. I am a woodworking hobbyist, and not a professional contractor, so it won't get used like the pros would but I think it can take day in/out usage just fine. I should add that I have other Bosch woodworking products (router, router table, sander, drill, jig saw) and am a happy customer of Bosh's products. I highly recommend this table saw.

Not the best!
This saw is not as GREAT as my previous 3100 saw. The overall quality seem to be fine but there are several things that are very annoying.
1) The new safety switch is difficult to turn on and you have to push the on button very hard to get it running. The off side of the switch is good and easy to turn off.
2) About everything on the saw had to be adjusted before doing any real work. Most of the adjustment were easy to understand and get set but the vertical blade adjustment was much more difficult to get set. The manual instructions were fine but getting it set took a while.
3) The miter gauge is very hard to get pushed down into it's brackets and will have to take some filing/grinding to get it useable.
4) The blade raising/lowering crank wheel is difficult to turn and not smooth at all.
5) The blade angle lock lever is very difficult to loosen to where you have to actually get your right hand in and bang on it to loosen it.
The saw runs good and has plenty of power and the dust collection works fine.
My seven year old saw was perfect from the word go and I hated that the motor gave up. It really served it's purpose and worked great for many hundreds of hour's.

Great Saw
I bough the 4100XC to replace an older 4100 that had finally gone to its reward after many years of use. The only reason for four stars rather than a sold five was the associated GTA47W self rising base. It is functional but not as solid as the TS3000 base that came with the 4100. I used the older, more solid TS3000 with the new 4100XC. Problem solved. I am a great fan of the saw. It does what I want with ease and accuracy.
