Charcoal griller par
I use for lighting kamodo style grill
I have used these for many years. They burn for about 10 mins lighting the charcoal. My grill is 800F and ready to cook after 15 minutes. They require air to burn. If you have the charcoal packed around them, they will smolder and smell bad. I sit them on two pieces of charcoal that are separated by a cm or so to allow air underneath. I put lumps loosely on top. I use two at opposite edges of the charcoal. In between, I put one crumpled newspaper. Then I pour the charcoal in a cone with each firestarter exposed to light.

Strong wax scent and heavy smoke
I purchased these to use with my Weber kettle grill and eventually my Pit Boss ceramic charcoal grill. These fire starters do catch on fairly quickly, however, they have a very strong scent to them and also emit a ton of thick smoke. I thought maybe it was the initial burn of the charcoal doing this but after closer inspection it was the fire starters. I would recommend them if you have nothing else to use but I wouldn't buy them again.

Easy to Light
I bought these for use in my fireplace
The wood I got this year is very difficult to get burning
2 of these usually get the fire going pretty well
Small squares are very easy to light and do last well over 10 minutes
I've bought stick fire starters, but these work much better
Would definitely recommend

Burn great - but stink
I bought those to start the wood stove as newspapers seem to be something of the past. They do the job, but I have to keep the box outside as the smell is very disturbing. I would NOT recommend for BBQ as I feel the smell might transfer to the food.

Great value!
All you need is one square to start up a fire in a pit, chimney charcoal starter, and fireplace. Lights very quickly and burns long (12-15 mins). One bag should last you most of the summer. Much cheaper that other similar types.

Do Not Use for BBQ
These stink. Yes they start a fire, great. But they will leave a taste and smell on your food if you are using for bbq. Ruined my bbq this weekend.

Great Product - Works as advertized
Works as advertized. Sufficient burning for burning a good sized log. Nothing else is needed. I used 2 at a time - 1 may not be sufficient.

Went through a pack of these and they've saved me lots of time starting my daily fires in my stove. Looking to buy more.
