Gets the job done
Yesterday I received my new EGO Cultivator. After final assembly (the lower handle) and reading the instructions, I took it out to the garden which hadn't been tilled for the past few years. To say it was easy would be to stretch the truth - it was still hard work. However, the EGO Cultivator did make quick work of my bed of weeds. I recommend this tool for people who are strong enough to use it. It is fairly heavy and when you start digging in the dirt with it, You will know that you are on the business end of a hard working, powerful tool. Also, I did a lot of work on a single charge with my 5 Amp Hour battery. Cleaning the tool before storing it was quite easy.

Better and much quieter than our old Mantis.
This is one of my favorite of my growing collection of EGO tools. Replacing a 30 yr old 2 cycle Mantis tiller, this cultivator is quiet, powerful, and useful all around our yard. Where the Mantis could be hard to start and loud like a screaming banshee, the EGO flicks on with a switch and quietly goes about its tasks with power and precision. Where I was the one responsible for keeping the Mantis operable, my wife has now taken over all my tilling chores. And she loves it. Kudos to EGO for another well-designed tool.

Beast of a workhorse
Honestly had doubts that this cultivator could actually do the job even though it had great reviews and based on that I took the chance. After all, it is an EGO tool. It far exceeded my expectations and basically paid for itself after it's first job. I needed to prepare a large area to over seed that was worn bare in my backyard. Without this, it would have been an 18v Cultivator that works me hard because of the tine design and relatively light tool. This EGO Cultivator attachment is a beast; no regrets. Looking forward to maybe a dethatch tool attachment for this or even a dedicated attachment.

Lacking Ergonomics
The tiller operates but has a design flaw. The tiller attachment is as straight as the power attachment above. Consequently, the blades do not readily dig down into the soil unless the operator applies downward pressure on the handle. Indeed, I find myself trying to operate the machine as near vertical as I can, pushing down on the tubing as low as I can. To do this, one must contort one’s back into an unnatural position in order to apply downward pressure. The tiller would dig downward on its own from its own weight, like a conventional tiller, if the tiller attachment bent downward at a 45• angle from the power attachment above it.

love em
I am 73 years old and I have been using an Ego blower and string trimmer since last spring, love em! I got tired of pulling on the cord of gas powered tools and all the hassle that goes along with keeping them running. I just got the cultivator and power head and had to try it out on my sleet covered garden. After breaking through a slight frost, it pulverized my hard clay soil with little effort. I can't wait for some warm weather to give it a good workout. It is hard to describe how nice it is to just go and grab a tool, slip a battery into it and go to work. Plenty of power in all of them.

Digs In!
I got this to till a small flower bed that needed re-doing. It was full of small roots from the plants we had removed that had died, so doing it by hand would have been a ton of work. The roots were not thick, but this tiller cut through them and tilled the soil very quickly. At first it felt a little heavy, but the weight helps it to dig into the soil.
The only negative is, the heft of the tiller makes the handle of the powerhead feel a little flimsy, but this is not an issue with the cultivator attachment itself.

Great tool!
Love this cultivator! I needed something to help with weeding out my flower beds that had gotten out of control. This tool was just what I needed. I love that it is battery operated. I am 59 and my husband has done all of the yardwork in the past but he passed away in November and I am trying to take over the tasks now. I needed a tool that I could handle and start easily yet still had the power to get the job done. I am really pleased with this tool and very glad I made the purchase. It takes a little getting used to but I have used this tool on two small flower beds so far and it has helped tremendously. I hope to finish all of my flower beds in the next couple of weeks.

Does a great job !
Removed some 20 year old bushes and want to plant some flowers. After the bush and root removal the ground was hardly in good condition for new planting. The Ego Cultivator did a great job digging up the top few inches and smoothing out the entire area. Much easier and quicker than a shovel and a rake. Very glad I had the right tool for the job.
