The good & the bad. So far, no ugly.
So far, I have only used the string trimmer a couple of times. The bump feed advances the string nicely without having to use too much force. I have not yet had to add additional line to the spool so I don't know how easy or difficult that will be. Essentially my only dislike is that the angle between the drive shaft and the plane of the cutting string is too shallow for me. This causes the trimmer to not cut parallel with the ground. The cutting angle is sloped away from me. Not too much of a concern when trimming up against the house or a tree, but, if I'm trying to cut a larger area, it is difficult to get a cut parallel with the ground.

Overall, it’s good enough
Overall, it works fine. I had to learn to have a screwdriver with me to remove the head (it’s hard to remove with bare hands). I also found if I use the Ego string, the strings feeds through the head much better than with any other brand. Other brands, I’m having to remove the head to re-string it several times even though the width is accurate. The head isn’t as heavy-duty as I expected. After a couple years of use, I need to replace the head. Power is good. I have a large collection of Ego tools. Love them, but this piece I wish was heavier duty given the beating it’s expected to take.

Most powerful Ego trimmer yet
The weed trimmer attachment for Ego’s new Power Head system is the third Ego weed trimmer I’ve owned. I bought the original 12-inch trimmer but quickly exchanged it for the 15-inch trimmer, which had just been released, because I could never get the bump feed to work right, and I didn’t like that it wasn’t variable speed. The 15-inch trimmer became my favorite Ego tool; the bump feed worked flawlessly for me, it had all the power I needed, and the variable speed worked a treat. But this month I jumped on the new Power Head because I needed a bladed edger and pole saw, so a friend in need gave a loving home to my trimmer and bought this new trimmer attachment. The new rapid reload head is bulkier than the old head, but the bump feed works even better and the rapid reload function is a welcome addition to Ego’s lineup. Here’s a tip that will make using it a bit easier: There's a small hole inside the head to feed the string though; it’s easy to miss the first time you try to reload it. The trimmer itself is even more powerful than the old model, thanks to the 2,000 watt brushless motor on the Power Head. I find I rarely have it cranked much more than a third of what it’s capable of. My only real criticisms: I don’t like that the trimmer head now turns counterclockwise rather than clockwise; since I’m right-handed and hold the tool to my right, this tends to throw debris back toward me, rather than away like the original 15-inch trimmer did. I also immediately replaced the OEM string with a different brand because the string Ego includes with the tool seems to be too brittle for the way I use it. And there will be a tiny bit more maintenance because there is a “transmission” on the trimmer head that will need to be opened up and greased occasionally.

Amazing, Powerful, love it. 2.7 hp trimmer perfect
I tested this on some tall dead buffalo grass that was over 2' tall.
the results
Buffalo grass 0, EGO Trimmer 1
I did a side by side comparison between the 15" trimmer and this one.
The 15" trimmer would overload on how aggressive i was running the 2 tools, the Multi tool did not care what it hit. it even cut a 1/2" sumac clean off at the bottom, i didn't even know it was there. I mean come on 2.7 hp trimmer :), that's insane. but i tell you it sure was fun to use. it made quick work of that area.
the rapid reload head.
something seemed odd about this, In a good way. its almost like the bump feed is so smooth that i didn't notice having to bump feed the head at all. i don't know if it was because i was trying to overload it to test its capabilities and kept hitting the ground with it, or if its just that nice of a bump feed. i did test the bump feed out elsewhere and it was just very very smooth, very well engineered.
so seriously, if you need a powerful trimmer, i don't even know if there are gas ones that can keep up with this.

EGO 15 String Trimmer Attachment for Powerhead
I bought a set of EGO lawn tools to replace a set of Black and Decker 18 volt tools I had for a number of years. Night and day difference. B&D was strictly light duty and their batteries did not last thru a typical yard session for me, which is only about 2 hours. EGO are clearly well built and should last a very long time. Battery is awesome. I bought the 5 Ah and have yet to fully discharge it in a session. That said, the string trimmer, while very good, is not perfect. It's heavier and larger than the B&D but without cutting a larger radius. Also balance is not as good as the B&D and the EGO does not convert to an edge trimmer with a simpel shaft adjustment like the B&D. Overall, I prefer the EGO string trimmer to the B&D, but it could stand some improvement.

Part of the multi-head system.
Used it a few times, doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the stand alone trimmer but if you need multiple tools the multi-head system from ego is the way to go. This is my first string trimmer so it took a while to get used to the bump head and made me wonder if I should have splurged for the line EQ trimmer. But I'm only using it on my yard and I preferred to save the money. I knew what I was getting and it has preformed exactly as expected. I use it for home residential use but happy with it so far.

Great trimmer head
Far better than EGO's dedicated trimmers. The string spins counter-clockwise, which is the correct way, unlike EGO's dedicated trimmer tools, which spin clockwise. Thanks to the Powerhead having a low speed mode, you can get the trimmer to spin at a decently slow speed if desired. The dedicated EGO trimmer tool I bought (and returned) before buying this attachment did not have any way to spin the trimmer at a moderate speed, it was either high speed or absurd speed.
If you have the power head, get this trimmer attachment instead of a dedicated EGO trimmer, you won't regret it. You won't miss the Powerload that the dedicated trimmers have, loading the string is extremely easy with this attachment, just slide the line into one hole and it comes out the other end, then spin the head by hand to pull it in. No need to take it apart and wind it yourself.

String won't advance or load per the instructions.
The first time I used the trimmer I could not get the string to advance when it broke. I tried taking the string out and reloading it per the instructions but it would not thread through the head and come out the other end. I tried taking the top off and doing this manually but when I put the top back on and tried to advance the string to load by turning the head in the direction of the arrows it still wouldn't load. I am extremely frustrated. I'll be sending it back.
