The Positive and Negative of the Rat Zapper
We have purchased two of the Rat Zappers and they work just like they are advertised to work - for awhile. And both products simply stopped working after a few months. New batteries were installed each time it stopped working to make sure it wasn't the batteries. And the light would come on to indicate it was working and we would bait the trap and set it out. In the morning, the light would be flashing to indicate a killed mouse but no mouse would be in Rat Zapper. The product longevity is definitely limited given it is not an inexpensive purchase. Having purchased 2 of these (a new one after the first one stopped working and then having the same experience with the 2nd trap that we did with the first), We are going to try a different brand.

Instantaneous and humane
I have been using this for two years and have had excellent luck with even the largest of roof rats. The key is to put it in place for a few days then turn it on with some bait at the back (our rats like sour dough bread). We put a tiny piece in front of the trap as a last meal. Easy to dispose and no mess. You do have to soak the bottom of the trap in soapy water every so often to make sure the bottom stays clean and makes a good electrical connection. Four double A batteries seem to work well for about six or so rats. Who knew batteries could kill!
