Birds will try to fit through the holes and kill them selves trying to get out but can't because they're stuck :( don't buy this feeder!

Grossbeaks love this feeder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I was disappointed with this feeder. Like another reviewer said, you fill it and turn it over to hang it and the jar is half empty. But, then I figured out a way to fix that. I fill the jar, screw the base on, then scoop another large scoop of sunflower seeds and slowly turn the entire feeder to the hanging position as I pour more seeds into the holes in the base of the feeder. I do this over the trash can I store the seeds in so there is no mess. By the time the feeder is in the upright position the base is full and the jar is full. I have many feeders out but, this one is the favorite of the Red breasted grossbeaks and cardinals. They nearly swarm me when I bring it out early in the morning.

Looks cite, but not very functional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The problem with this feeder, is the way you fill it. You fill the jar, screw the base on, then tip it over. By the time you do this, you end up with the jar only being half- full. There is no way to avoid this. Even though I like the way it looks, I’m returning it.

I bought this for a change because
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had chipmunks getting into my old feeder so I thought I'd try this one and so far no critters eating out of it except birds.

don't buy
The underside of the lid rusted. I have 2 feeders and the birds much preferred the red glass one.
