Damages clothing, on any cycle
I have had this unit for six months now. It seemed like the perfect solution for small loads of lingerie and the like, but the mechanism has chewed---literally, chewed and torn---the fabric of four now, and I'm going to investigate getting rid of it. Although the tub looks shallow and smooth, although there seems to be no way for clothes to be caught and snagged, I have repeatedly taken out bras that were as new when they went in, which after washing look as though a dog had gotten them. Even using lingerie bags doesn't help: at some point in the cycle, clothes are getting clamped or caught and then abraded. This is very expensive for the poor job it does.

Expensive but worth it.
This is the greatest add on you can get to the LG washer. I know you can buy a large washer for the same price, but if you don't have room for a second washer in your laundry room, this does the trick. Small loads go in here, large loads in the big washer. Both can run at the same time. It really cuts down washing time.
Its only fault is that fabric softener must be added manually. The machine announces a series of chimes to let you know when to add it. When this first occurred, my wife thought it was a fault with the machine, as it stops for a few minutes with water in the tub. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Have to leave lid up for drying
I love the idea of this sidekick - but I wasn't thinking when we bought ours, that I'd need to leave the lid open to let it dry out between uses. I guess the only way to get around that would be to use it every other day or so, because leaving the lid open is a hassle. I can't close the pedestal drawer with the lid up. Several days later, I spin the drum around inside it, and can still hear water swishing around. So don't know how long it will take for it to dry out.
Wish the designers would come up with solutions for these sorts of issues when they're in the process of designing them.

Excellent addition to our LG family
We had been hearing about the Sidekick for a while and was thinking of getting one. We finally saw it at the store and were so intrigued that we bought one. We could not be happier! All of the little loads that used to sit around waiting for enough to run in our LG front loaders are a thing of the past. We are able to do the special small loads at the same time as the time we do our main loads.
While some may say that 1.0 cubic tub isn't enough to do much, but it is so flexible. Active wear, hand wash, single blouses, anything special does not sit around in piles any longer. It is so quiet and easy to use.
Thank you!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great small washing machine with some flaws
Good for small loads but the machine but the water does not fully drain well. After the second wash, there was an odor coming from, what I believe to be, sitting water. Also, detergent/softener must be added into washer. I would recommend this product if it drained water completely to avoid mold and odor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Deceptive Convenience
I was pumped to have a smaller load option when I purchased this item. I was newly single and thought it would be a great option to save water and be able to do smaller loads of laundry or quickly take care of an accidental spill, etc. The good is that you can use this wash bin at the same time as the regular, that's neat. I'm disappointed that the cycle times can't be controlled, so there is no quick wash option. Every cycle is 30+ minutes. The larger washer has a quick wash that's done in 15 minutes. Yes, this is a nitpick. I purchased this extra for convenience, but without a quick cycle or ability to control the pedestal cycle wash time I wouldn't buy again.

Didn't expect to love this!
The only reason we bought this is that it didn't cost a whole lot more than the regular pedestal. I didn't expect to use it much, and at first I didn't. I fell in love the first time a laundry emergency came up while I had a load going in the big washer, and now I use it as much as a few times a day. It cleans great, it's pretty quick, and it's quiet. If you're getting pedestals and have kids and/or pets this upgrade is 100% worth it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

LG Sidekick
I received my new LG Front loader along with the LG Sidekick less than 2 weeks ago thinking that it might be a while before I was able to use the Sidekick. In less than 9 days, I have used the Sidekick 3 times. I had an item or two that I didn't want to use in a full wash cycle and the Sidekick was the perfect answer. All of the items washed came out perfectly. It only has a "warm wash" cycle but that worked for all of my items. Because I wanted the tub to air dry, I did leave the lift open after the wash cycle and I did do a quick wipe of the tub but I don't think that you really need to. I'm so happy that I spent the extra dollars for this piece of electronics. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
