BENT, No instructions included, poor quality
Purchased this item and construction delays on remodel put installation off for a few months. Taken out of box and had a curved look I didn't expect. When installer finally putting it in, he noted it appeared bent in places but mostly on one corner He was able to straighten the corner so that he could complete the install. After trim kit completely in place it has waves and dents to surface and is curled in at edges. I will be contacting LG about the product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Oh wow, I mean this thing is just trash!
Ok. So, we bought a big beautiful house. They had a small, aging Whirlpool microwave installed with a trim kit. We had just bought a big LG microwave, so my wife more or less insisted that we get this trim. I instantly regretted it. I mean, you can kinda tell from the photos that this thing is very shoddy. In fact, the whole thing (including the tray!) is just sheet metal with sharp edges. THe instructions are terrible, and you have to cut out your own templates to install it.
I measured everything very, very precisely, but this thing scratched up the microwave and my beautiful cabinets terribly when it came to "pop" it into place. The kit includes two oversized screws for each corner and the holes are dead in the corner, so even after drilling pilot holes they split the cabinet at the edges.
Like I said it's just sheet metal, so none of it is straight or stays straight. Even after coaxing it as perfectly as possible, using shims, and attaching the fascade to the junky little tray, it's never perfectly aligned. So, after several hours of work, you're left with trim that looks bad, scratches up everything, isn't flush with the microwave, and drags on the door--causing damage every time you use it.
It seems painfully obvious that this product is an aftermarket afterthought. Whirlpool's OEM kit, in contrast, features a very sturdy and straight tray, a well-designed trim with boxed edges to avoid damage and add stregth, and an infinitely preferable appearance...plus it doesn't destroy your expensive microwave and cabinets.
To top it all off, the trim costs almost as much a microwave--though it would be pretty worthless at any price. Do youself a favor and avoid this overpriced gargage like the plague! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The final trim piece/cover was missing two of the installation holes to attach to microwave. Would of been fine except the other two holes were off center 2.5", which makes it impossible to attach. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
