Unbelievably quiet.
Not only does this dishwasher clean extremely well, you can barely tell it is even running when you are next to it. Living in a condo with the kitchen practically in the living room, our old dishwasher interfered with watching the telly and normal conversing, while trying to talk on the phone was nearly impossible. This is absolutely the best dishwasher I've ever encountered. Fairly easy to install, I did it myself with no troubles at all... Highest recommendation, worth more than 5 stars!

We love this dishwasher!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this dishwasher for about a month and it is fantastic. I realize it's a little weird to be excited about an appliance but bear in mind the kitchen is adjacent to the living room so sound level (or lack thereof) is important. This machine is quiet. You can almost stand next to it and not hear it. It cleans the dishes very well and the most interesting feature is the additional top shelf where you can put larger serving spoons, knives, whisks and all those other items that don't have a comfortable home on a standard shelf. The problem with this is that we forget to empty it because we're not used to it yet.

Second one not dented but still disappointing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the first unit was installed, removing the plastic covering revealed a small dent by the control panel. The replacement came a week later. No dent, but the bottom corners of the door both have creases where the stainless bends. They are slightly visible on close inspection but both reflect the light upward on the door in a way that is glaring which diminishes the look. Went back to store to compare with the returned unit and the floor display unit. No creases on either where the stainless bends. Other than cosmetics the unit works very well. But cosmetics are important. It’s why we updated to stainless.

Super silencieux
[Cet avis a été recueilli dans le cadre d’une promotion.] J’adore mon lave-vaisselle, il est vraiment très silencieux, nous avons le salon très près et on est pas obligé de lever le volume du téléviseur quand il fonctionne. Le seul bémol c’est que le panier du haut ( pas celui à ustensiles) celui où l’on met les bols et verres, il y a une bosse qui rend le classement inégal et les plats ne reste pas en place tant qu’il n’est pas plein. C’est le seul point que j’améliorais! Le reste est super, un vrai anti taches sur la porte, facile à nettoyer. Grande espaces et panier ajustable très appréciés! Pour moi c’est un 4.8

Great Unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only been in the new house a couple of weeks, but so far the new Kitchen Aid dishwasher has met my lofty expectations. Our new house is 'open concept' which had me concerned about the noise level in appliances. I must say, that I cannot hear the dishwasher running. Period. And the dishes come out clean AND dry. What a change from my last dishwasher that I recently purchased for the previous house (different brand). Now, if this unit will last, and continue to perform the way is has so far, this will be a great purchase. No regrets as of yet.

Not That Quiet
This dishwasher is running for the first time as I write this. My review is about the noise level. Yes, it is quiet compared to most dishwashers, but’s not as quiet as the other reviews lead you to believe. I can definitely hear it. I am wondering if we did not install it properly. There were 4 black/grey foam pieces that came in a bag called sound insulation component, but there is absolutely nothing in the instructions regarding these pieces. I can’t find out what the heck these things are online either. They are do thin, I don’t see how they would make a difference in the sound anyway.

LOVE this dishwasher!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this dishwasher after our old one conked out, right before Thanksgiving. Did a lot of research and ended up narrowing it down to KitchenAid and another brand. When I saw the sample on the showroom floor and checked it out, I was sold. Feels very solid and I love the third row. It fits way more than our old dishwasher and there is a lot of flexibility in how you load it, I keep trying new ways to see how it goes and everything is super clean every time. It is also extremely quiet - the noise had never been an issue for me but I have to say, it is nice that you barely notice it running in the background. I am very happy with this purchase!

Excellent - so clean & so quiet!
We bought this in September and have loved the improvement in our lives. Our dishes are so much cleaner and with the third rack for silverware I have so much more room for pots and pans. My Christmas cookie sheets were permanently stained, or so I thought. They are shiny and sparkling just like the aluminum bottoms of my Farberware pots. Only issue was when we installed it ourselves it was somehow in DEMO mode and we had to wait over two weeks for a repair guys to diagnose the problem and flip a switch so it would run.
Love the "silent running" and just fabulous cleaning
