worst cooktop ever
We keep getting the F47 error and thank goodness we purchased the extended warranty as they have been out here five times. We purchased Dec 2015 and the problem seems to be when you use the boost function it blows out the two burners on the left side and you are left with two small burners until they can get the parts in. The last time they came
Oct 31 2017 and Jan 25 2018 they brought the parts, repaired it and while testing it it blew out again. Today is Feb 5 2018 and I am still waiting to hear what Warrantec, the extended warranty company is going to do about it. If you buy it better make sure you get the extended warranty as you will need it!

Glad we bought the cooktop
When shopping to replace our failed Jenn air cooktop, we were considering all of the leading brands-- GE, Bosch, Jenn air, and Kenmore. I read the reviews of many models within these brands, and found reviewers complaining of problems for all these brands. The leading problem was cookware compatibility. I went to cookware sites like WS, and read what readers shared regarding compatibility of various brands. I saw the fewest issues with kitchen aid. I was a little leery about buying another kitchen aid appliance, given the bad luck I had with one of their refrigerators. We've had the cooktop for a few months now and are very happy.

very disappointed
We bought this cooktop almost 3 years ago and it just broke down for the 4rth time. Once it broke down when the technician replaced the motherboard and he switched it on himself to check it out. For over half a year I tried avoid to use the bigger burner because that one always causes the problem (I used it a few times on 4 didn't dare to go higher). But you buy it to use it and since we had guests over for dinner last WE , I needed that burner. I switched it on 8 and within 1 minute I heard a loud bang and there I was stuck again with 2 burners out of 4. I am very disappointed in this product.

Fast heating and fine heat control
We have had the induction cooktop for about 5 months and have been super pleased with it. Easy cleanup - nothing gets cooked onto the surface as with a traditional resistance element. VERY fast to heat the contents of a pan and the heat control is predictable, instant and very fine grained. Easy to use, love the "simmer" feature. Make sure you obtain the glue for mounting the install rails to a solid surface countertop, it isn't included with the cooktop. Fairly easy to install but you need to pay attention to get the height right so the cooktop is supported by the rails underneath and NOT by the glass.

Horrible product and poor customer service
When I purchased this cooktop I really enjoyed cooking with it until the right two burners (elements) just stopped working in the middle of cooking. I called to Kitchenaid and they would replace the part at no cost but I had to pay for the cost of service repair. Which is not cheap. About 6 months later the same thing happened again. I called to Kitchenaid customer service and was told the same thing. Now if this is going to happen every 6 months or so and I’m going to have to pay $180 for service to have this part fixed...well that’s just crazy! So I asked the representative if there was any other solution due to I checked on the internet and this seems to be an issue with this product. She stated there is nothing she can do for me. So I will be filing a complaint or doing whatever I need to do for this company to stop taking advantage of people when they know this product is faulty! I suggest you do NOT buy!!!!! We stepped into the future
For our kitchen remodel we selected an induction cooktop and are certainly well pleased with our choice. Although induction cooking requires specific cookware it was well worth it. The cooktop is well laid out with easy to manage touch controls, (no knobs), also making it easy to wipe clean. The cooktop has excellent eye catching modern styling that definitely adds to the appearance of the kitchen. The styling combined with the speed and control offered by induction cooking makes us think we stepped into the future while standing in our new kitchen. The Most Amazing Cooktop
I had never before used an induction cooktop. After reading a review in Consumer Reports I discovered that the most efficient cooktops were "induction." I was going to get a gas cooktop before I read the article. Gas is the most inefficient cook top. We have just moved into a home built in 1962 that had its original appliances, so we had to replace them. I chose Kitchenaid because of its good reputation. This cooktop is amazing. I can heat a pot of tea in only 3 minutes. As soon as I turn the "burner" off the kettle stops singing. Everything cooks faster with induction. Also, I seem to have better control with the heat. You can even heat milk or chocolate without scorching. Amazing! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
