Excellent features and look
Waited 10 weeks for our first one to be delivered, yes first one. Within 24 hours it was obvious there was a problem with the refrigerator section.
Kitchenaid were super helpful and efficient having a tech out the next morning who confirmed the control panel was malfunctioning. I was offered the repair which I declined as I felt a High end appliance should be brand new and functioning not repared.
Kitchenaid delivered our second unit 4 weeks later and so far so good with a notable bonus that it is signifucantly quieter than the previous one too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Awesome Layout!
I am a General Contractor and Master Carpenter who has installed all manufactures 48" Refrigerators in my clients custom homes over the years. My wholesale supplier recommended the Kitchen Aid 48" Side by Side for my personal kitchen remodel. I am very glad she did as I find it to have more usable space than the Sub Zeros and GE's I've installed over the years. It is quite, efficient with well organized drawers and shelves, excellent lighting, and I love the location of the ice maker and the quantity of ice it produces. I am thrilled with this purchase. I hope it holds up to years of use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Runs quiet and is convenient to use
We purchased this a month ago to replace our 29 year old 48" Sub-Zero that was finally dying. This KitchenAid was a match in terms of installation in existing space. It runs cooler and quieter than the sub-zero. Love the led lighting inside. The layout took a bit to get used to given we had the sub-zero for 29 years. Love the ice that the ice maker makes. The cubes are hard and very fresh. The storage space is great in both the freezer and refrigerator side. Main reason for switching from Sub-Zero to KitchenAid was price and that the installation was easy. So far we are very please with this purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great "big" side by side Refrigerator
We purchased this when doing a home remodel to replace a Viking side by side that was about 35" wide. This one is 48" and what a difference! We are generally not big fans of side by side refrigerators, but this one is in a different league with the additional width. We found the price to be much less expensive than the typical high end lines such as SubZero, etc., and the value and looks of this model are great . It has the fingerprint proof stainless, which we also like - less time wiping and more time refrigerating! It has worked flawlessly since we installed it. Our diet requires us to eat a lot of vegetables, and the amount of fresh food storage is exceptional. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Replacement is much better
The first unit I received was not acceptable. There was no proper seal on the doors, they popped open, when you would close one the other one would open. The ice maker tray over filled and dropped water into the ice bin causing a huge block of ice to form rather than cubes.
All the issues seem to have been fixed with the new unit and I have had no problems.
It is a wonderful product, however the amount of time that it took to get it replaced was over 6 months and that was extremely disappointing.
I appreciate the final product and replacement, thank you. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Just Lovely & Works Beautifully!
We bought this to replace a Jenn Air 48' built in that was a 2003 model - What an Upgrade! The exterior finish is just gorgeous and the handles match our stainless steel 48" gas stove - This refrigerator offers plenty of shelf & in the door storage space, including gallon storage, it has beautiful LED lighting on the side that illuminates the interior well, it has a beautiful temperature control panel, a filter for the ice maker which by the way has totally exceeded our expectations on the making of ice cubes - quickly makes ice, is quieter than most ice makers, and doesn't have that "off" taste - The freezer is spacious too. Keeps ice cream frozen solid! All around, we are delighted with this purchase! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great Design-- more storage space than competitors
We purchased this 48" side-by side refrigerator, after comparing to the Sub-Zero 48" and the Thermador columns (30" frig and separate 18" freezer). We only compared models with an ice maker, but no ice or water dispenser.
The KitchenAid has a lot more freezer space than the Sub-Zero (10.8 cu ft vs 9.8) and a bit more refrigerator space (19.3 vs 19.1). The Thermador columns are elegant, but only have 16.8 cu ft refrigerator space and 8.6 cu ft freezer space.
The KitchenAid has been very quiet and stays at its temperature set points; ice maker works well. Very nice internal design with more space inside the drawers, too (less space is used up by the plastic frames of the drawers than in the Sub-Zero).
Very happy. It replaced a GE Monogram 48".

Lemon with customer service that is equally bad
We bought this refrigerator for our vacation home in Cabo and liked that it was a reputable American company with a local dealer if anything were to go wrong. Six months and four service calls later, KitchenAid has finally agreed that the unit is unrepairable and will replace it...but SIX MONTHS LATER? What if we hadn't kept the old refrigerator...this Kitchenaid doesn't get below 70 degrees, won't make ice cubes and doesn't keep anything in the freezer frozen! Basically it doesn't do one thing it's supposed to do...yet it has taken six months of aggravation to a least get Kitchenaid to own up to the fact that it's a piece of junk...now how many months till it gets replaced? I can understand that every once in awhile, a product gets through that's just not good, but that's where customer service comes in. The way that this has been handled is is a reflection of a complete lack of quality and integrity in every way. Beyond disappointing. While I'd hope the majority of their projects work as they should, buying a product knowing how they treat the customer when the product doesn't work is a clear signal to look elsewhere.
