IRWIN 3/8-in Woodboring Auger Drill Bit
I purchased this bit for a home project that required drilling holes for lag bolts through several 4"x4" pieces and then into an additional piece of wood against which the 4x4s were secured. Worked like a champ; couldn't have been more pleased. I'd highly recommend this bit.

Excellent Drill Bit
This Drill Bit was used to drill about 75 holes in 4X4 Pressure Treated Posts and 2X6's. It performed very well and only around hole 70 or so did it begin to slow down. Overall, Excellent Quality and Product!

Bores holes in wood, what more could I ask?
Picked this up to drill some 3/8" holes for a bench I was making. It did a fine job. Bit fast, went in true, no problems at all. Drilled clean through 4-by and 2-by wood (but not stacked on top of each other)
The price could have been a little better, but many bits in this style were priced in the same range.

For furniture making this is the finest
There seem to be no drawbacks to this style of auger bit. The center core is the style which Irwin holds the patent on.
Learn the proper way to sharpen the bit by hand with an auger bit file and use a stop collar that is long enough to fit it well and you will be very impressed.
