Effective but thin.
In comparison of my old GE cooktop this was much lighter in weight than expected. It produces even and concentrated flames but at low settings you can barely see any flame. The grates are sturdy but appear thicker in height than needed which will make washing more laborious. Also, keep in mind the gas connection is in the back right corner. I needed to get a longer gas line: Bottom line, it was easy to install and gets the job done, but for nearly a thousand dollars you will expect more. Good stove/bad knob faux 'stainless' veneer
Knob "stainless steel' is merely a metal looking coating that flakes/falls off within 6 months revealing white plastic composition...otherwise we are happy with the units performance.

Plastic knobs keep detting damaged
This cooktop doesnt have an option for stainless steel knobs. The plastic knobs are easily damaged by moving hot vessels around. Not at all user friendly. $60 worth damage each time you move hot vessels around.

Very Bad Quality
I have seen so many cooktops but never seen this type of cook top where you get a cheap plastic metal coated knobs that rips off in the very first month. I was shocked to learn the knobs were cheap quality plastic material. See the pictures and it looks pathetic in a brand new house. Why would GE do this to save few $$. I wish there was a rating to give 0

Good Cook-top
This cook-top replaced a glass gas cook-top, this top has a bit more industrial look as the burner grates are very tall. you will need to be very careful when removing and placing the burner grates back onto the cook-top. We noticed the porcelain coated metal on the display models were all scratched from the grates being placed on without due care. I did have to cut a larger opening in the granite to fit this cook-top even though our old cook-top was also a 36 inch. overall we are very happy with the purchase so far even though it's just been two weeks.

Enjoying Our New Stove!
We’ve only had this for a month, but are enjoying cooking on it! I haven’t had a gas stove for 30 years and am remembering why I liked it so much! There IS a learning curve going from electric where you use the burner that most closely matches your pot diameter. This model is larger (36”) than the freestanding (30”) and the extra 6” makes a huge difference! Easier to clean than a glass top! Plenty of power without going to the highest flame height. Now, if it lasts more than eight years (as the ranges seem to) I will be thrilled!

Disappointed
Expected better. I had a Molly Maid with built-in grill; thought with a new stove top it would be an upgrade. I don't cook that often, but it has scratches on the knobs; need to upgrade knobs. If I could afford to return and purchase a stove top of my choosing. Received thru home warranty.

Looks beautiful!! Too hot tho
We love the look of it! Very slick & modern look... Works great, burners come on reliably & quickly. However.. it is way too hot! Even on the tiny burner stuff boils on the lowest heat setting. I cannot simmer without turning the heat on & off. I have to slide pans around on the flame also to avoid charring one spot. I can do this with the 2nd smallest burners also, but i dont even bother with the largest 2 burners! I'd go with the lower powered version next time like our prior cooktop was.
