I am interested in the Certainteed 15 X 47 R 20 insulation. The ad says for walls but there is no mentioning of ceilings. I intend on using this for walls and ceilings with an air flow spacing. Is this OK?

I am doing the V section of my 1 1/2 storey house with R20. Each side is 5 feet and the length of the house is 28 feet. How many bags would I require?
want to use this between floor for sound barrie. Note there are no fire retardants but is the insulation fire resistant
Is this appropriate for garage insulation? If not, which insulation do you recommend? (for walls and ceiling - have already purchased air flow venting for ceiling)

Very economical and nice product, for fiberglass
I bought 16 bags to add extra insulation to my attic (two layers over existing R-32 from builder). As far as fiberglass goes it is a nice product and easy to work with. It was also very economical for me, as I bought it with 50% discount. I used it in attic and here is my experience: 1) regardless of how much you try, gaps will form between batts. so better buy enough to have two offset layers to cover them 2) you have to use some base when cutting fg, use short (2 ft) plank for this. There is usually very little room in attic, and this plank is easy to carry around. 3) buy some amount of Rockwool to fill those odd shaped nooks and corners, it is super difficult to do with fg.

Meets and exceeds quality standards
Installed 14 bags of this insulation and the only odour I had was cotton candy. Which is fine by me. So, Iam very happy with this product.

odor smell
I purchased the R20 and R12. Both have odor smell like smoky. They also have big hard parts on the surface.
