could you put the door on the side instead of the front as we have no room on deck if on front

Posée par: 617 sqadron
Absolutely. I have a door on either side and the front is only window panels. You just need to take some care with the holes lining up to attach the bottom of gable roof frame and the door frame. Take your time, ensure that the gable insert panels will be flush against the side walls of the gazebo (installation manual shows reverse of gable guides making a lip) and you'll be fine. Three good friends...couple of days....and you'll be victorious ! lol

how hard is it to siding on a house

Posée par: bill2006
I suppose it depends on what kind of siding you have . We attached our structure to stucco .. then caulked the sides . Worked ok . If you have vinyl siding you would have to be careful not to tighten it too extreme as that would probably buckle the vinyl .  Hope that helps .

Will this gazebo stand up to snow belt snow in Ottawa region

Posée par: Ott pot on
YES ! The gazebo goes hold up to the Ottawa snow belt....but get yourself a "roof rake" to routinely clear snow off the roof. I got caught indoors (duh) during quite a belting of snow....about 5 inches no the gazebo roof but I heading out the next day I could and easily roof raked the snow off....no damages.

How do the walls attach to vinyl siding?

Posée par: LouGibb
I upgraded my horizontal aluminum siding to vertical vinyl siding before erecting my gazebo and the walls attach to a nice flat surface. If you don't want to change your siding, I'd suggest you just change the siding within the gazebo parameters. It's well worth adding this extension....as well as adding value to your home.

Will this hold the snow

Posée par: Kenval
Hello, our units are created to withstand the winter months. That being said you must remove snow from the roof of the unit time there are any significant accumulations of snow. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, -The gazebo Penguin Team!

Can the 12 X 10 be attached on deck and to the stucco side of house? If so, how do you ensure you have a proper seal where sides and roof attach to the stucco wall? Gorden

Posée par: GRHF
We put up this structure in July . It looks great .. it's solid .. we like it alot . But having said that .. it's not as easy to erect as you are led to believe by the ad . Thank goodness my husband is very knowledgeable & capable .. & has lots of patience . Took about a week .. one full weekend then a few hours every night after work . It is attached to one side of our garage which is stuccoed . it was shimmed , affixed & caulked . It is a solid structure . We look forward to enjoying our little retreat for many years to come.

Gazebo Penguin 10 'x 12' Ajouter une pièce est évalué 4.3 de 5 de 3.
Rated 3 de 5 de par Good for the money Installation manual was confusing, as part #s were reversed which made me dissassemble some steps to redo. The one sliding door doesnt sit flush with the weather stripping. All in all, I would recommend it. Lets see how it fairs with the Winnipeg winter though

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great so far Instructions could have been better a couple hick ups but managed to fix without issues. Just put up no complains yet. Windows are a bit flimsy however kept the wind out pretty good. Was able to sit out in chilly weather feeling comfortable.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Envy of the neighbourhood ! Who doesn't want to head outdoors to relax without wrestling net curtains or having to actually enter open mosquito territory? Also at the fraction of the cost of a more solid extension (add foundation $$$ and possible city building permit fees!). My backyard would only allow an 8' x 10' gazebo and we all know an 8' x 8' enclosure doesn't leave much room to walk about for either a table/4 chairs or lounge set. So after talking with the Gazebo Penguin people, I opted to purchase this 12' x 10' gazebo and .... I only erected two-thirds of it ! It juts into my backyard 10' and only takes up 8' of my homes back wall. I have a spare wall and spare roof panels...if an when they might be needed ! Understand that I previously had my horizontal aluminum siding upgraded to VERTICAL vinyl siding (not board and batten) so there was a perfect flat surface for my new gazebo wall to butt up against. If changing all your siding is not in your budget, perhaps just change the siding in your designated gazebo area. At the limited gaps of horizontal vinyl siding, I simply cut to depth...foam sponge cord and plugged them down the gap before applying the caulking. Perfect ! Keep your wits about you when assembling this unit. Some parts of the instructions are backwards (keeping the outsides flush!) but once figured out....the three of us were able to erect it in a few days. I will also be reinforcing the weather stripping fuzz that this unit provides with proper strips of foam weather stripping but gorilla glued along side of the fuzz. I tried the sticky weather stripping but it didn't hold up well by the end of the cold weather (also applied in the cold autumn). Just another DIY lol Sure I had to pay more for the area I wanted but I've got spare parts! I had to maintain the roof in the winter using my "roof rake" (best winter toy ever! if you have shed roofs etc to clear) to remove snow....but it did hold up very well when I was unable to clear during "biblical" snow falls and got to it later. The "windows" appear to be flimsy plastic so I wouldn't let dogs or kids go wild in it....but I have neither.....just a beautiful enclosure that I can head in to, summer or winter...open the windows to let air flow through the screens....and not worry about being eaten alive by mosquitos. It IS a wonderful extension of my living room, through the patio doors....and yes, worth investing time/money when it's all said and done. My guests, cats and I gravitate to my new lounge area.....frequently. This summer? I'll be getting a small TV to hang inside....using my 2 extra hooks that weren't used...as I erected 1 less 10' beam. Sweeeet ! Let the beer and wine flow !
