Luke Smokes Food
smokes really awesome
I bought this smoker last year just before summer. I have smoked Brisket, Beef Ribs, Pork Roast, Pork Ribs and smoked baked beans very successfully. I chose this smoker because of the fact it runs off of propane and not electric so you do not have to worry if there is a power outage. it has a control for heat and works well with the wood chips. The food products have turned out excellent I recommend this smoker I have other ones but really like this one

Really good unit. Yes it has a learning curve.
This small propane powered smoker is a solid unit to own! Despite reading bad reviews about this unit. I bought it. Overall, a person has to understand how a smoker works. This unit is easily operated if a person understands how to use a smoker. Smoking hamburgers, mac n cheese, and about anything that can be smoked. Makes the world a better place. Since there are no tutorials on how to use one. Let me give the rundown.
1 ) the removable tray above the gas valve requires smoker CHIPS. The chips must be soaked in water for 15-25 minutes FULLY. After the chips smoke for 30 minutes. Chips turn black and MUST be changed out with MORE wet chips, or the chips will catch fire. Use a HOT PAD or welding gloves to change the chips out.
2) there is a water tray in the unit that must be kept full. If you want MOIST meat. This pan sits below the racks. and above the smoker chips.
3 ) YOUR Propane tank MUST BE FULL in order to get the temp you want!! Often times people accuse this of being a bad unit and not reaching temps desired. I recommend using a propane level gauge. and for cooler days. A grill insulator wrap. Logic 101.
4 ) the pressure regulator on any gas appliance will wear out. Some faster than others. When they wear out, they don't allow gas to flow any longer. Just change it out. Easy.
5 ) buy a DIGITAL meat thermometer and temp your meats. Its better to temp them accurately.
Additional thoughts: you will have to pre measure your chips needed for the tray. Warm the unit up, and then add your chips to the tray AND then fill your water. once the smoke starts. I put down my aluminum foil on the rack, set the pre-seasoned meat down on the foil and cook the meat in its own fat. Using some common sense when it comes to appliances that use fire is very important for safety. It is just common sense to turn the fire clear down and open the unit up with caution. If a person follows these steps. You will have a really good cooking experience with this specific unit and wont burn one's self. Just keep an eye on the front door's gauge and adjust accordingly. Remember a smoker is a LOWER temp unit. so 250ish is where to hover at. I go 275 if I can.
