Rated 5 de 5 de par Pitboss copperhead I have used mine for about a year now and I have to say I love it. You have to play with it to learn how to cook on it. I have to set mine at 250 degrees and only goes up or down 10 degrees. The top is about 15 to 20 degrees different from the bottom. I put a gauge on mine. Took the pitboss logo off and called pitboss to see if they had a gauge to fit it. They did. Keep up the hard work pitboss. Awesome smokers.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Love this smoker I've been using this smoker for a while now and it does a incredible job. Lots of smoke flavor and consistent cooking. Its definitely set it and walk away kind of deal. I've cooked Turkey, Ribs, Brisket, Pork Butts, Whole Chickens, chicken breast and steaks in it. They all come out fantastic. I've even had people ask me to do pulled pork for them for parties, after they ate mine. So I highly recommend this smoker. Most of the complaints I see are easily corrected. The main thing you must do is clean the smoker after each use. Clean the glass (409 cuts through the buildup and leave it looking brand new) and vacuum out the fire chamber. Failing to clean out the fire chamber will lead to reduced smoke and the unit clogging up. Just like most pellet smokers. Don't leave it out in the weather, pellets don't like moisture. It will get all gummed up. I store mine inside the garage, Its on wheels so not a issue. The one down side is the control unit. It is cheaply made and the plastic rubber cover over the readouts comes loose with heat. Food and liquid gets in behind it. Doesn't impact the great cooking, but is definitely a defect. Thus I had to give this incredible machine 4 stars.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great smoker that makes perfect BBQ. I bought this 5 Series vertical smoker from Walmart a year ago. It has been a really great smoker. My last smoker was electric and I could never get the temperature right. 5 pound pork butts would take 12 hours trying to dial in the right heat setting and the electric element couldn't keep up in cold weather. This smoker you just dial in the heat and let it do its thing. It makes beautiful smoke ringed BBQ that you can only get from wood fired smokers. Now when you own a pellet smoker, you better have some smarts to clean it and keep it operating properly. If you get an ERR on the screen, your auger isn't turning. Meaning there is a lot of dust in the tube, so use high quality pellets. Before every smoke, I vacuum out the combustion chamber to get the ash out or blast it with compressed air. I clean the glass lightly with #0000 steel wool and some apple cider vinegar, cleans it right up. I used this on a 35ºF day that was breezy and the smoker kept the temperature where it needed to be. You can cook low and slow, hot and fast, lots of options. It makes loads of smoke, way more than my electric ever could. I very much recommend this smoker, but only to those that aren't helpless individuals. There is maintenance that is required with pellet smokers and a lot of people are totally clueless when it comes to how things work. The Pit Boss Series 5 is a fantastic smoker, makes consistent results you won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Need a Bigger Water Pan I love smoking meat in this smoker. I like being able to load up the smoker and let it do its thing. Everything has turned out great. But, my biggest issue with it has to do with smoking a long cooking meat like a pork butt. Every couple hours or so, I have to refill the water pan. I know - I would have to open anyway for basting, but it would minimize the time the door is open. I would like to know if it is possible to make a deeper water pan. I don't mind removing a grate or two. I do love smoking with this smoker.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great smoker This was bought 2 weeks ago, I did a 16lb brisket and a couple 8 lb loins. Turned out absolutely wonderful. My only complaint is plastic has separated right in the middle top of control board. Drippings have gotten inside and can't hardly read numbers. But even before anything got in couldn't read numbers without mashing it against control board and getting on my knees. Otherwise 5 stars Sure could use some advice.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Love love love! So, when I first put my smoker together I was soooooooooo pumped! The assembly was very simple and the directions are very clear! I did the burn off as instructed and got a little concerned as this is my first PELLET smoker as the flames get a little big! I reached out to a brand ambassador on YouTube and he reassured me! So, I smoked some chicken legs with pitboss seasoning and holy cow it was off there chain! The smoke flavor is so consistent and so delicious! The following day I smoked an 11# ham and my smoker threw a code about halfway through the smoke! I did all the troubleshooting steps, reached out to the YouTube brand ambassador again and finally had to break down and call customer service! They sent me two new parts to replace the parts that likely got damaged during shipping! With that said, I have now smoked another 11# ham, ribs, wings and even potatoes and corn! I will NEVER buy another brand of smoker ever again! I love pitboss! Thank you for having great customer service and making a great product!
