Disappointing
We have always had Kitchenaid appliances, and we still do, but the convection ovens have a rather disappointing repair need. It breaks with too much steam (like roasting a turkey), when we clean it, when we use it more heavily (like baking Christmas Cookies) and this last time, it just cooled down and won't start again.
When it works I love it.Our last home had one and it was repaired 3 or 4 times in 10 years. When our oven in our new home broke (it was a poor low-end brand) we went with the Kitchenaid again. That was May 2013. I am currently waiting for the repair guy to show up for it's 4th repair in the last 1 1/2 years. I wish there was a lemon law that would require replacing it.

Nothing special
I really only needed a basic oven as I never use convection, programming, etc. but I wanted a wall oven and wanted the design to match my other new appliances. Was very disappointed and frustrated that this oven couldn’t even cook a frozen pizza well when my super cheap apartment oven did so perfectly. Had to buy an oven thermometer and needed to recalibrate this brand new expensive oven to be 20degrees hotter. Cool down fan is loud and stays on forever, annoying. Like the blue interior and the slide-out shelf. Doesn’t strike me as an oven I could rely on for high temp cooking with amazing results. Controls are not at all intuitive to me.

Fan noise is brutal
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The oven does a great job on cooking but we had an issue with the circuit board blowing after we used the self clean mode for the first time. It built up too much heat causing the board to blow. They replaced the board under warranty & put in a set of retrofit fans to improve airflow so this wouldn't happen again. It did improve the airflow but now it sounds like we have a 747 jet in the kitchen from just regular cooking. When you turn the oven off, the fans stay on to dissipate heat until it gets down to a certain temp. The whole family can't wait until they shut off so we can talk normal. We leave the oven door open to shorten this time from about 15 min down to 5 min.

A problem with the failure of the self-cleaning feature
I'm not certain I would recommend it to a friend for one--and only one--reason. After using the oven just once and having some cooking juices drip on the bottom surface and congeal there, we activated the self-cleaning feature. It failed to remove all of the congealed juices and nothing else we tried worked. We actually ran the self-cleaning cycle a second time for longer and a residue still remained, impervious to all efforts to clean it. Otherwise, the wall oven is very attractive and has all the features we wanted. Stylistically, it even blends beautifully with our Viking professional range.

Buyer beware
Bought the oven in July. Nothing but problems. Repairmen sent give you the company line--it's you not the product. KitchenAid knows for a fact that these ovens have a temperature malfunction. KitchenAid and their retailers continue to sell a defective product. For example: it took two hours to bake a potato. Oven set at 350 degrees somewhere in the first hour temperature dropped to 305 degrees. But it's the customers fault. We had to reboot the oven to get it back to its correct temperature, but again its the customer at fault!

Looks great but......
Oven looks great in my new kitchen and seems to work well except for the venting of the hot air out of the bottom vent. Mine is installed under cabinet and the venting heats up my wood flooring to the point where it is VERY hot and I am worried it will damage the floor or start a fire. I limit my use of it because of this. I can't imagine what will happen when I try the self cleaning. I would like to speak to someone about this. my designer had all the specifications when we ordered the cabinets, there is plenty of room between the vent and the floor but it gets really hot. I would like to speak to someone to see if there is a way to redirect the venting to go straight out instead of down to the floor.

Terrible Unit....Looks worse than previous models.
This is the first review I have ever made, I am that disappointed.
This is my second Kitchen Aid wall oven in 5 years. Last one was previous model and looked and worked great. This model sits out from the cabinet about 1". Ok not a huge deal. But the design geniuses that created this left a totally black edge around the unit which makes it look totally unfinished and installed incorrectly. Have fun if you have a white kitchen, it will look 10X worse. Now whats even more egregious is that the door doesn't sit flush and always looks slightly ajar. I cannot believe this unit went into production. Try to find a picture of this unit installed the way they describe. Its very hard. They show it flush mounted or with black cabinets so you can't tell. If you plan on doing flush mounted cabinets it will look like it was never pushed in. The only way I would ever consider this oven is if you did a black kitchen with full overlay cabinets. Otherwise your kitchen will look like garbage.

Won't last long.
I bought this oven little over 2 years ago. It is still pretty much brand new because I don't use it that often. Didn't even have to do self cleaning yet!
In general I was very happy with it. Recently it just broke in the middle of baking. Despite ruined holiday celebration, now I have to spend $$$+ on technician, parts and etc. Being an electronics engineer with degree in computer science I attempt to follow troubleshooting steps (that come with appliance) and very quickly and easily I determine that Range Oven Control Board (WPW10317343) is dead.
Ok, I understand that stuff like this happens *sometimes*. So I chatted with tech support and asked them to provide me with a replacement board. My request was denied! My question is ... if a company makes an appliance, should it last 2 to 3 years or longer? My expectation is that non-wearable items, like electronics, should last way longer.
So I give ONE STAR RATING partially for poor quality, but mostly for tech support. I feel sad that I have 5 major KitchenAid appliances in my house. It was a bad investment.
