Great for cleaning even heavy rust
I used these buffs on a set of heavily rusted clamps that would barely slide or were actually locked up. These pads made short work of what I had anticipated being a long tedious task to remove the rust. A quick pass removed all of the surface rust and even cleaned out some minor rust pits leaving the steel clean, shiny, and rust free. A quick shot of rust protectant and the clamps are as good as new. Like many Dremel bits they are not particularly long lived but the quick connect mount makes snapping off the old and snapping on the new -- dare I say it -- a snap. I always keep them on hand now as I keep finding new ways to use them.

Great for polishing small metal items
I use these in small places and for delicate metal polishing, such as carburetors. They make short work of rust, grime, and tarnish. They dont last, too long, but are inexpensive - so stock up if you have a big project on the horizon. What used to be a long, arduous process by hand takes a fraction of the time. I only wish dremel made a version that allowed me to get in the really tiny places, but this gets me very close! Highly recommended.

Awesome, but sell them separately!
I love the more abrasive of the two... I need these in bulk! They are expensive, but last a totally reasonable amount of time. I love the EZ-Lock system. Well done Dremel, but please, sell the 180 grit on it's own (or better yet, in a five pack).

Color question?
Great product!
Must limit speed as previous comment from Dremel.
Color code ?:
Tan = Course ?
Black = Medium ?
Brown = Fine (This one is EASY!)
Labeling improvement needed. Under artificial light, it is difficult to distinguish Tan from Brown.
Thank you.

Worked great for 45 seconds
Then quickly got out of balance and destroyed itself. I was using very light pressure. Dremel - if not ready for market, please save us the hassle.

Works great, but weras out quickly
I was looking for a product to sand the inside of a small, one piece box that I routed out. the inside is so small that sand paper is awkward. I brought a pack of the coarse and medium grit. the coarse grit worked great. Because it's flexible you could work it down into the corners and the base. the drawback . . .it lasted about five minutes and was worn out. I tried the medium grit and it lasted about two minutes. the concept is great, but they need to be more durable. the grits should be sold separately and in multi-packs . . . for am more reasonable price, say $1/unit.

Good results but poor value
I used a pack of these to buff a pair of custom aluminum heels I casted. These were wonderful to use after hand sanding the aluminum pieces and I was able to get a pretty good surface finish. The problem is that these get worn down incredibly fast; I had to throw both wheels away after working on this one project, which is incredibly disappointing considering how small the aluminum pieces are and when running them at low rpm (5,000-10,000). I'd love to recommend this product based on its ease of use, but if you have to replace them after every use, it's just not worth it.

Works but it doesn't last
These abrasive buffs are very functional and work well for cleaning and light grinding but they are very expensive and don't last very long. They start breaking up the moment you start using them.
