It's been just under a year since I bought this stove. (M/N: YAES6603SFS1) For the most part it has done it's job. However, the build quality is poor. The commitment to "built-in-obsolesence" by the manufacturer Amana, (owned by Whirlpool), is patently obvious. It's a basic stove that is in a word... "cheaply" made, utilizing the cheapest electronic components available from China. The first serious issue I had with it was the main control panel. The sensor that maintains the pre-set temperature stopped working. The board is not a modular design. One has to replace the entire panel in order to fix even the clock. The price of this board is over $400 CDN, almost 50% what I paid for the stove. Thank goodness it was still under warranty!
The repair tech told me that all major kitchen appliances are pretty much built to last at most about 8 years. There's your "built-in-obsolescence" for you. My old Kenmore stove was over 20 years old when it finally died.
Bottom line is, I wouldn't recommend this appliance. The problem is that no appliance manufacturer, with the possible exception of he Koreans, isn't infected with the "built-in-obsolescence" disease, so the extended warranty is now a necessity in order to inoculate yourself from these poorly made products!
