SELF CLEANING OVEN DOES NOT WORK
Its amazing than in the 21st century they sell an stove without a self cleaning oven. For the first time in my life I have to spend time and great amount of effort cleaning the oven. I would return the stove if I could.
Their claim that it has a great new system is bogus, NO OVEN CLEANING, BE AWARE!!!!
Sooo disappointed, called Customer Service and all I could get is "Unfortunately.....the new system does not clean the walls not the top wall, and unfortunately the new system will only clean the bottom of the oven if its lightly dirty. Well good luck trying to use your oven without getting anything on the walls or the top. Awful experience

Nice Range
Very nice downdraft. We didn't have much choice due to having to replace an older Jenn Air. Fitting the Kitchen Aid where the old stove sat was a nightmare and now I have to get new cabinets because the blower of the kitchen aid does not fit in the space allowed and where the pipe from the floor going to the outside is located! This turned out to be a whole kitchen renovation, when we should have been able to slide it in. Poor design on the blower part. Aside from that, I am pleased with the stove. Adavice.... don't buy a house with a down draft stove! Our stove is backed up to an interior wall and there is no way to put a hood system.

Fine, not Great
It looks very impressive and has a lot of nice functions. For the price I was hoping it would work better though. The 3 issues I have with it are:
1. It takes 25-30 minutes to preheat. Even when the temperature says its at 400, its really only at 300-350.
2. The outside of the door gets really hot. I have small children so I keep a close eye on them when they are in the kitchen
3. It smells. We have had it for about 2 months and there is still a smell of burning plastic and dust. The manual says this is normal and it should go away in time.
Overall it looks like a really nice oven, but for the price it should work better.

Love the Modern Look
We purchased this stove recently and finally had it installed last week. Removal of old down draft stove wasn't to bad but the installation of the new took almost 6 hours. Like other reviewers have stated the down draft didn't match up with our old stove and venting had to be modified to accommodate the new. My wife has used the stove for cooking and baking and just loves the quick heating elements for cooking. As far as baking she loves the conversion feature from "regular" to convection which cuts down the time on baking. We love the way it looks and hope it will last as long as our old stove.

A few positives, many negatives
I just recently purchased this range. It's very nice looking out of the box but it went downhill from there. The only other positive is the the power of the downdraft though it is a bit noisy. You would think when you pay almost $3k for a higher end range they could put the kitchenaid logo on straight, mine is crooked. The cooktop is very challenging to control the temperature. It's either low or boiling, medium heat is impossible to find/maintain. The biggest negative is the fact that the oven takes over 20 minutes to preheat to 425. My old range took 8 minutes. Plan your meals well in advance. Ultimately I'm very disappointed in my purchase especially considering the cost. If I had any alternatives for a downdraft I would return it to the store.

Ease of Use
Enjoying our new downdraft range! We needed a down draft to replace an existing one. There are not too many to choose from now and this one seemed the best for our purposes. The smart convection settings make converting recipes a breeze. Everything has been cooking, baking and roasting to perfection. The cooktop is easy to clean with no annoying cracks and crevices. I like the indicators that highlight when the burners are on or even still hot to the touch. Aside from a slightly loud downdraft, my only complaint is that the control panel is too sensitive. Even a drop of water registers on it. All in all, a good looking and functional range.

Superior Perform./Excellent Solution for Island or Peninsula
Searched high and low for a solution to a peninsula installation. Previous down draft (not a Kitchenaid) was old and didn't work well. This slide-in was easy to install, is sleek and stylish, and functions amazingly. The oven controls are on top, the cook top controls are similar in size to gas ranges. The elements heat quickly and thoroughly and the variety of setting make this four burner range nearly as functional as a five burner one. The oven door is big (as is the oven cavity) and the glass clear - so you can really see how dishes are cooking without having to open the oven. And lastly, this is one beautiful appliance! As of now we couldn't be happier!!

Not happy
This was our only option based on the configuration of our kitchen/vents. I am not at all happy with the stovetop/oven: 1/stovetop does not clean easily 2/oven takes a very long time to heat up and 3/the timer function is a pain to adjust. for some reason every time you go to turn it off, you have to reseat the baking time. I understand you have to push the time button to turn on/off but it must be sensitive because it often cancels everything so i need to reset. Also, the timer BUZZ is not very loud and it doesn't stay on, so, if you don't hear it the first time (i.e., you aren't standing right next to the oven), you may forget to check your food.
