Perfect and simple utility knife
This knife is exactly what it’s supposed to be... a simple one blade utility knife.
Other reviews stating that they didn’t expect to take the screw out, or that the size wasn’t right, or it didn’t come with instructions... come on. Is a simple utility knife. Even if you’ve never owned one before it’s very obvious that there’s only one screw in it. It has to be that one!
Knife feels good in the hand. Adjustable blade length works as designed and stays in place. Not much else to say about this well designed simplistic tool.
Black and red colour scheme rocks too.
Thanks again Craftsman for another reliable tool.

I Agree with the Other 1 Star Reviews
I bought the two pack set. I'll give it two stars since it works ok once you get it together. However, this thing is horrible to put together. For something that could be dangerous when not put together properly, more care should have been made with the design / instructions. Poor instructions provided. The screws were difficult to get out the first time. Blades seem to be ok. I was finally able to get one working. I have had other utility knives that were much better getting the blades in and out.

Good Start for Craftsman at Lowes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This utility knife is made in the USA and is nearly identical to the Stanley utility knives I have used for years. This is not surprising since Stanley/Black & Decker bought the rights to the Craftsman name. The knife has a good feel and the blade retraction mechanism operates smoothly.
I hope that the "new" Craftsman will produce more tools in the USA and not simply put Craftsman labels on Stanley tools.

Red knife never gets stolen by co-workers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because my typical grey box knives keep getting stolen by co-workers. Now if someone tries to take my knife, I'll know who did it mwahahahaha.
P.S. dont give 1 star reviews simply because you dont know how to install the blade on a box knife. Geez....

How do you get this thing set up?
I purchased this yesterday and cannot get the the blade in working condition. Basically how do I go from picture #4 to pictures #s 1, 2, and 3? No instructions, no guides, etc. unless maybe I rip out the paper from the top and there are instructions inside? Then what if not and I've already ripped out the paper and risk not being able to return it in case the product itself it faulty? Cannot find anything online....not on your site or the distributor's site. Very disappointed in Craftsman. Very poorly thought out.

The blade is in there, but....
There are no instructions to let the consumer know that we have to take the handle apart, remove the blade that is inside and put it in place so that it actually comes out. It’s really easy to do since there is only one screw holding it together. Maybe this is common knowledge, but based on a couple of these reviews, I’m not the only one who was not aware. I have not used it yet, so I can’t comment on that, but wanted to provide an answer for anyone else coming here to see if other people had issues with it.

Great to have on your workshop table
This is a great sturdy boxcutter kind utility knife to keep on your workshop table or hanging on your pegboard. It uses replaceable blades and hold pretty tight, doesn't shake or move. It is made of metal and seems heavy and sturdy. It has a stop at the smallest setting with only the top exposed so it can be used to cut boxes or so without revealing the whole blade. You can use it for many small tasks and it will last.

This item is horrible.
Went to put in the blade and the lever to move the blade in and out came off. Could not figure out how to put it on that it would stay and move the blade. No instructions. I would never recommend this to anyone.
