ULTRACOLOR PLUS
Description
Ultracolor Plus avec technologie DropEffect(mc) est un coulis avec sable, modifié aux polymères, à prise rapide et de qualité supérieure, sans retrait ni efflorescence et de couleur uniforme, employé pour des joints de 3 mm à 2,5 cm (1/8 po à 1 po) de largeur. La technologie DropEffect réduit l'absorption à la surface afin d'aider à repousser l'eau et les saletés pour les empêcher de pénétrer dans les joints de coulis. Ultracolor Plus est formulé spécialement selon la technologie HCTMC (technologie d'hyperhydratation cimentaire), exclusive à Mapei, afin d'éliminer les problèmes usuels associés aux coulis de ciment Portland, touchant notamment à l'uniformité de la couleur et à l'efflorescence.

Excellent Grout
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed this tile as a kitchen backsplash. I have never tiled or grouted before! This is an awesome addition and looks great! I love the travertine and wanted to preserve the character in each tile. I did a lot of research on how to grout the stone to keep the travertine natural. There wasn’t a lot of guidance in regards to using a pastry bag to grout. I used some scrap pieces to do a trial run and the pastry bag worked great! Mapei customer service is great and answered all my questions!
I used Mapei Premium Mortar to set the tile. Do not use Mapei Type 1 as it cannot be used on natural stone tile due to causing bleed through.
I used 2 coats of Miracle 511 Impregnator Sealer as a grout release. If you want to keep all the travatine character make sure to brush sealer in all the pits. Do not get sealer in the grout seams as the grout may not adhere to the tile.
I bought a 12 pack of 16” pastry bags with #5 tip at Michaels for around $7.00. I used every pastry bag during grouting.
I used Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA Bone color grout. I mixed up small batches of grout to fit in a pastry bag. I did not have any issues with the grout since I worked with small batches and did a small area at a time. That’s why I used all 12 pastry bags. Do a small section at a time. I did not use a grout float because I wanted to keep the grout in the seams only. I used a damp finger to swipe the grout seams like you do chaulk. The Mapei Flexcolor CQ will not work using a pastry bag, so save the $! It will not work in the pastry bag!!
After grouting wait 48-72 hours and apply another round of the Miracle 511 Impregnator sealer to all the grout seams.
