Does this unit make much noise? Anyone have a decibel rating for it? Or some experience with how it sounds at full throttle? Some of the convection-type units sound like jet engines while they’re running. Impossible to be around without hearing protectio.
Radiant heaters make very little noise if any. Except I couldn’t tell you about this unit as I have not been able to locate a hose anywhere to hook it up. No one seems to know where I can get one. Can’t understand why it’s not included.
It’s going back to Lowes.

I would like to use this heater for my garage but have limited space. Can it be placed on a work bench or hung from the ceiling? or does it require a minimum clearance from walls/floor. also does it need to be vented? Thanks
I doubt if you can use it in a garage. any natural gas thing must be vented. it does not seem built for that.
I'd get a dedicated garage heater instead. electrical might work of you don't need constant or high heat.

I'm looking at putting this on my out side deck , or would a patio heater be better , this is more then double the btu, does it throw the heat like a over head patio heater ?

You Want This Hose For It
This company sells 1/2"ID flexible rubber hoses up to 100 feet long with 1/2" NPT male fittings at each end. One end screws right into the female receptacle on the heater. Order a 1/2" quick disconnect kit for the other end and you can connect to any 1/2" Female Quick Disconnect valve. As for the unit, it started up first try out of the box. Time will tell how durable it is. But, it doesn't throw as much heat laterally as I hoped. Way too much is lost straight up. Will be looking to rig up some type of reflector or mushroom top for iit to push heat down and around.

Good Heater, good price
I bought this heater for a construction site, while doing the drywall and tapping. Placed it in the basement and heats the house very well. Only issue I had was that it did not come with a hose and finding a 3/4" hose to connect to the gas main. It is very hard to find and lowes does not carry anything.

Works like any other radiant heater with the added convenience of being able to hook up directly to the natural gas line in the building. This safe time and money vs. having to change out/ refill propane cylinders.

needed it for a large garage. works great heats it up to 60 in 15 min on high. then i lower it to medium and it really keeps it warm. starts easily as long as you keep plunger in when starting. I couldnt be happier. it's 12 here now and my garage is 60.
