Not for large doors or doors kids will use
I got this for my front door. The pin was too narrow. So I tried it on my bathroom door. I couldn’t get it adjusted to exactly where I wanted it to stop the door and when my kids pushed the door open I could see the strain on the hinges. If you open the door gently I am sure it would be fine but with small children that come barging in, I was afraid it would bend my hinges. I am going to try the 3m self adhesive floor door stop for my front door and I will stick with the original door saver that uses a stopper against the door for my bathroom. Just wish there was a way to keep my 2 year old from unscrewing those!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

DoorSaver 0.7in x 4.76in universal hinge pin stop
Recently had these hinge pins stops installed since the other type with rubber tip failed & made a hole in the bathroom door which is also near closet door. They cost considerably more than the inexpensive type. However these hinge pin stops will not make a hole in the door which needed patching, priming, painting. So far they work well. Suggest lower bulk pricing if purchasing multiple ones.
Not certain how or why candy wrapper pieces were in the bubble mailer that contained the hinge pin stop which was picked up at the store. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works for some applications
The Door Saver doesn’t provide a “hard stop” position for a door. The mechanism will “flex” and overshoot the nominal stop location (that you set) and then bounce back. If the door is bumped or opened quickly, it can overshoot several inches before it stops and comes back. If the door opens 90 degrees toward a wall, you need to set a stop position at less than 90 degrees to protect the wall. You have to sacrifice a fully opened door for wall protection. You don’t have worry about wall protection with a door that opens180 degrees because the mechanism won’t let it open that far.
The description says the Door Saver 2 is for doors with 3.5 and 4 inch hinges, but the pin sticks down about 1/2 inch through the bottom of a 3.5 inch hinge. The Door Saver 3 version, which uses your existing hinge pin, doesn’t have that problem but it has the same flex and overshoot behavior. We bought several Door Saver 2 units, but only kept two for a large door with 4 inch hinges that opens 180 degrees. We bought a few of the Door Saver 3 units for hallway doors that open 180 degrees. The Door Savers seem to work ok for this application. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works, but not the best
I needed a unique solution, my patio door opened into a window (handle would hit it), so I was searching for a floor mounted doorstop to put on my deck to stop this from happening. The product worked, but I used 2 on one door to try and lessen the load on the hinges.
