Great machine!
I bought the Bosch 500 series washer and dryer, and have had them for around a month. The washer is very quiet, and does a great job cleaning my clothes. I had a maytag unit before, and comparing the Bosch to that there is no comparison. The Bosch does a much better job cleaning, can be scheduled so that it can run while you are at work (so you can come home and throw the clothes in the dryer, saving time), and is significantly less noisy. The old high efficiency washer I had sounded like you were washing bricks while it worked. With this one, the noisiest part is draining the water. I highly recommend this unit, even though it is on the pricey side. To me, the cost is well worth it, and I feel that I definitely got what I paid for.

Sweet smelling laundry
I have been using my new washer for several weeks washing everyday clothing, towels, and even a few throw rugs. I am so happy with the results. Unlike many reviews of HE machines, which mention the mildew smell of the clean clothes, etc., I did not find that. I do not usually wash heavily stained items and do not deal with animal fur, etc, so I cannot comment on how well the machine washes them. The machine is so quiet. Of course, being HE, the cycle is very long, but, hey, you're saving water! It's actually amazing that the clothes are so clean with so little water. The Bosch 500 is also a very nice looking machine. And, by the way, you can stop the cycle if it's just begun, if you need to add something. I have it stacked with the Bosch 500 dryer in a small closet. The Lowes team was a pleasure to work with and the guys who installed it had a great sense of humor.

Not for US standards
I have purchased this washing machine without realizing the electric plug problems with USA standards. It created a lot of headache. Buyers beware that the plug is international and you will either need to hire an electrician to change the wall outlet and your home electric system as it requires 220-240v or buy it with its matching dryer and connect the plug to dryer as advertised.

I was ordered washer from lowes. I was very happy when I got it. But when delivery guys left and I try connect power cord I was surprise. The power cord was not fit to my outlet. I spend 2 days walking store to store(lowes, home deport, etc)to fix this problem. Nobody can help me. I connect by chat with somebody from Lowe's to hear I'm sorry i cannot help you, every washer
has typical power cord. I call to customer service. The person was very nice and try help me, she even send me number what kind of adapter I supposed to buy on Walmart or Amazon. But the adapter also not working so i have right now big problem with this washer. I was naive because I was thinking I will connect the washer to power and supposed to works, right?!

manufacturer did not consider consumers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the 240 V plug for washer is not compatible with US electrical outlets and Bosch does not make it easy for consumers by ensuring that their distributors educate consumers

3 repairs and dead at 6 years old!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised to see so many positive reviews of this machine. Mine just died and I hate it so much I am rethinking everything. I have the matching stacking drier. That is the ONLY reason I would consider getting another of these. so I don't have to buy a new drier too! This washer has had three expensive repairs in 6 years. And now it died. It sounds like the entire drum is off its rocker and it will tear the house down. Also, the rubber gasket is moldy. We had it replaced once and I was very careful to keep the door open like the repair man said. Still mold. And the door is in a walking area so not super cool to leave it open all the time so the washer doesn't mold! I just HATE it. I thought I was buying TOP quality and I have never heard of a washer lasting 6 years MAX. So, the reason for all the good reviews? The last sentence of them says the review was left as part of a promotion. So if you want an honest review - here it is. On it's way to the dump. While I need to figure how to replace it.

Excellent Appliances
We've had these units for 8 mos. They are efficient and very well made. We bought them because they are compact and smaller than their bigger cousins, but that allowed them to fit into our older laundry room. The room was OK for the old top loader washer we had, but other front loaders were simply too deep to fit due to the door/closet layout. They clean and dry clothes very well.
The condensation dryer does not get clothes as dry as a vented hot air dryer. Usually the cycle ends when you can still feel some moisture vapour in the clothes. They aren't wet, or even what you'd term 'damp dry' by any means, but often do need to sit a bit before being put away. We noted most reviewers who don't rate condensation dryers highly do so because of this.
Another tip is to be a bit careful around the touch pad controls. They're quite sensitive and static electricity/a brief touch can modify the settings you've picked!
Great units and if they fit your budget and room size we'd highly recommend them.

Bosch 500
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works great, but I'm not sure I am using it to the best of its capability. The owner's manual doesn't break things down very well. I feel like it could be better but I'm not sure how to do that.
