Can you use a dado blade on this saw

Posée par: Dude2000

how do I change the bevel angle on a DWE 7491 table saw

Posée par: rayaman
If you look at the front of the saw, theres a lever handle right below the "wheel" that adjusts the heigh of the blade up and down. If you pull that handle to the right, you can then slide it to whichever degree you would like. I hope this makes sense what I am saying. Good luck!

Banc de scie avec support à roulettes Dewalt, 10", 15 A est évalué 4.7 de 5 de 578.
Rated 4 de 5 de par Good Saw, But . . . . I've had my saw for about 5 years and it's held up well. My only complaints are that it won't take dado blades (they really should put that somewhere other than in the direction booklet, which you can't read until you open the box#, and that I cannot tilt the blade to cut at 45 degrees. The best I can get is around 43.7. #I checked it with a digital angle meter) At first this wasn't a big deal because I was a new woodworker, but my skills have improved to the point where I want to use dados and make accurate angled cuts. So I'm looking to buy a new saw, other than a DeWalt. It's really a shame about the poor angle cuts because I can work around not having dadoes. But 45-degree angles? No so much.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Top-notch The good reviews and high ratings of this saw are well-deserved. Mine is mounted to my work bench, which made the adjustable feet a nice feature for getting the saw table aligned perfectly with my bench top. The motor is powerful & smooth, and the rack & pinion fence adjustment is a very slick feature. The 2.5” dust port for your vac keeps things neat around the shop. The fact that the fence extends up to 24.5” on the right means you can rip a full piece of plywood (with a helper, probably) right down the middle with pinpoint accuracy. I love this saw!!!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Major Flaw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used the saw for a flooring project and worked great. I then used it to build a table top and noticed something was off. I went back to the table saw and checked it for square to the table top and this is where the problem lies. The actual aluminum fence is twisted. To double check, I took the fence apart and laid just the aluminum extrusion piece on a flat surface and this confirmed that it was twisted and therefore impossible to make accurate cuts. If you want a saw for anything more than rough construction, do not buy this one.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great if used for intended purpose Motor works like a champ; haven't had any slowdowns whatsoever. If buying this for rough construction projects where being off by 1/128th of an inch isn't a big deal, this is the saw for you. For people obsessed with 'perfect' cuts, however, it could use some tuning. Both my blade and fence came pretty poorly aligned, and required some extensive setup to get to that 1/128th of an inch precision. Aligning the blade is a pain, almost impossible to make incremental adjustments, and the fence does have noticeable shift even when locked down. This is a jobsite saw though, so those are minor complaints overall. All in all though, I'm happy with the purchase. For your first table saw, this would be a great choice.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great buy I have just purchased this saw and I'm really pleased. Assembly took about an hour including the table but was realitivly simple. I did not need to make any adjustments. Storage of the tools took some time to figure out. I am only a novice at this but I have found it easy to use and it cuts great. I really like the fence which makes accurate straight cuts easy and quickly. I have cut various pieces of wood and it cut through easily. I would recommend this saw to anyone. Only down side is the price, even though I got it on sale it's still expensive. All my tools are Dewalt and they are all worth the extra cost.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Product I was in the market for a compact table saw 2 years ago because I have very little storage. My dad has an older model of this saw and we never had an issue with it. The saw did cost more than others, but it was worth the extra money. The main selling point for me was the "dual cam" style adjustment for the fence that keeps both sides moving evenly. Most saws I looked at didn't adjust "squarely." Right out of the box I to make one minor adjustment to the measuring adjustment, but the rest was right on. My only complaint/request is that the saw come with or offer an optional soft start for the motor. Quite a few miter saws have it now, and I would really like that option to eliminate the inrush current of the motor. I just feel it could be easier on components of the saw.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very Versatile Table Saw While this saw is similar to the less expensive version found in most big box stores, it has very important features not found in the less expensive model. The obvious extra feature is the stand that comes with this model. However, the expanded dimension of its cutting ability is probably what makes this purchase worth while. Being able to rip up to 32 inches versus 20-24 inches makes this saw a cut above the comparable less expensive model. That may not seem like a big deal until you need those extra inches. Besides, if you ad up the cost of buying a stand for the less expensive version of this saw the costs are nearly the same. Think ahead and spend the extra money to have that flexibility.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice saw I previously used an older, sketchy radial arm saw. I felt like I was going to injure mysekf ripping on it so I started to do some heavy research on nice tablesaws. Had it down to the Bosch 4100-09 and this Dewalt. Ive used the Bosch before while flipping a house and it was a nice pirtable saw. Ultimately, I chose this saw over the bosch for 2 reasons... 1.the saw feels sturdier when using it with larger pieces of wood and 2. The adjustable fence with knob is definitely a superior design to the Bosch. Fast adjustments, very accurate and no wiggle between ends if the table. Ripped about 500 feet if 2x4s so far. I feel confident and safe using the saw. Very pleased with purchase atleast so far.

Rated 3 de 5 de par It’s not just the miter guide. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this saw a week ago and really like it. I’m a hobby guy and this has really improved my shop over the old one. I bought it despite several reviews criticizing the miter guide, some saying it’s unsteady in the slot. And it is. My first experiment with addressing this was thin layers if tape along the bar. It slid with less play in some parts of the slot, but jammed completely in others. No way it could guide a piece through for a cut. So the problem is the table itself...the slots are flawed. I’ve ordered an adjustable bar on-line; we’ll see how that goes.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Saw I have used this saw on two jobs so far and really like it. I gave it four stars because I still think there is room for improvement. Pros: 1. Perfectly aligned right out of the box. 2. The fence is incredibly easy to use; it stays true while making adjustments for rip widths and adjustments are super easy and fast. 3. Seems to be well built. 4. The stand is very stable (I picked this saw over the Bosch because the gravity rise base was never as solid as I like). 5. Doesn’t take up much space Cons: 1. This saw is almost never on sale! 2. No additional blade storage 3. I’d prefer a slightly larger table surface (I know that is just personal preference but just mentioning it for potential buyers to consider when making their purchase) Overall I am very happy with this saw!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a just getting into woodworking but have a pretty in depth process when it comes to research for the perfect product. AMAZING! I've had some buddies come over that want to use this saw (that have different models and brands) and all have given it their approval for some of our projects. There are features on this thing like the massive rip capacity that make jobs like making my workbench EASY! Very easy to set up, and as a Wounded Warrior Alumni, the wheels on this thing make it really easy to take it where I need without hurting my body.

Rated 2 de 5 de par DeWalt should work more on quality I've bought the saw at Lowe's website & the product was delivered to me in time, it took for me about an hour to figure out how to assemble and to put together the product. However I was very upset that after further inspection I found that one side of the table was sagged about 1/8" - it is a huge out-of-flat defect and if DeWalt has at least some kind of quality control, the unit like this shouldn't leave factory gates. I had to go to Lowes for exchange but could someone imagine my frustration that the new unit has similar defect only this time the center part of the table is noticeably raised above other surface. Really? Now I think that my problems describe the common DeWalt trend of ignoring quality of their products in sake of profit,

Rated 5 de 5 de par Highly recommended I have not used a decent table saw since I was a framer many, many years ago. I did own a cheap inaccurate saw for awhile. What a pain. I just completed repurposing an old entertainment center into a more modern TV stand using this saw. It cut everything with ease, completely accurately, resulting in much less fanagling than using a circ saw as I had been doing. The saw was slightly off out of the box, but adjustments were simple to make and the scale is now 100% accurate. I am glad I opted for this saw, rather than the slightly less powerful 745. My only regret is that it doesn't have dado capacity, but my router takes care of that and to get an equivalent saw with dado would have been an extra couple hundred bucks. I highly recommend this saw.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Table is not flat Bought this table saw two months ago. Set up was not hard, I like the stand, fence is solid, and overall this is a powerful and solid table saw. The problem is that the surface of table is not flat! There is no way a perfect cut can be made with this saw despite everything else being excellent. I took some pictures to show the issue. I really like the saw, but plan to return it to Lowes's as this is a manufacturing defect and has been reported several times. I also reported this issue to DEWALT Customer support and I hope to hear from them.
Date de publication: 2017-07-11
Rated 5 de 5 de par Fine Product With two days of use at this point this saw exceeded my expectations. Out of the box my saw was set up perfect and no adjustments were necessary (definitely check yours first). This model will cut a full 24" rip and using the adjustable fence was precise. Very nice size for job site use or homeowner that does not want to take up a lot of space in their shop/garage. I'm very pleased and would recommend this saw, it's a lot of saw in a smaller package. My only complaint is the sawdust is blown straight out the back of the saw; if it gets windy the sawdust will blow right back in your face. I plan to buy a radiator hose that I can cut a 45* bend out of and slip it on the exhaust so I can direct the dust downward.
Date de publication: 2013-12-22
Rated 5 de 5 de par Impressive little saw. At first I was a afraid that any portable table saw would easily be knocked off its stand when ripping lumber. Not so with the DeWalt. I was impressed with the Teflon-coated table-top as well as the powerful direct drive motor. For the price I don't believe you can find a better table saw. The top-of-the-line cabinet saws used by professional craftsmen run in the thousands of dollars. For any homeowner or contractor for that matter, I believe this table will stand the test of time.
Date de publication: 2016-02-08
Rated 4 de 5 de par great saw but...... It was between this and the Hitachi feature wise I wanted the Hitachi. Bought this to replace a Makita 8 1/4" that flipped on it side when you try and rip most anything heavy and couldn't use dado stacks. I chose this over the Hitachi because the reviews about customer service and the soft start motor problems. With that said the saw is powerful, stand is sturdy and I love the rack and pinion fence adjustment. the bad the fence itself feels flimsy but hasn't given me any trouble. the wish list I wish it had a built in out feed support and maybe a support that pulls out opposite of the fence.
Date de publication: 2018-06-12
Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Saw The portability of this saw is unmatched. Easily folds and unfolds into a very sturdy saw. As you expect from Dewalt, it has great quality. Assembly was ridiculously easy, bags of bolts are all labeled according to what they are used for. "Handle", "Wheels" etc. I didn't even have to read the directions, just look at the pics to get the orientation of the parts I was attaching to the stand. Power is great, ripping hardwoods has no effect on the saw at all it seems. The fence on this saw was the best in the store when I went into purchase it. Even the larger stationary saws had more play in the fence than this one. I dont use the miter gauge, so for me this has not been an issue as others have stated. I have no complaints with this saw so far.
Date de publication: 2016-06-13
Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Deal This is a great saw and accurate with the fence system which sold me just from the concept of it. Why 4 stars? Well until you read the manual you do not know that this saw is not capable of using dado blade sets. That is the only thing I find wrong with this saw. That is where I should have researched a little further. That info is on the Dewalt site in the question and answers tab. My rush is my loss in that area. This saw otherwise is a great saw.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect Jobsite Saw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a table saw for remodeling projects around the house and had been borrowing from friends for a while. Finally decided to get my own and decided on this one. It has convenient and secure storage for every accessory it comes with, is easy to use, and powerful. It cut through 2 1/2" poplar without a hiccup. Everything works smoothly, and even though there is some plastic in places, it appears to be the pretty tough kind, and things are metal where it counts. The stand folds up easily for wheeling around, and the fence is a snap to store, swap sides, and adjust. I would definitely recommend this.
Date de publication: 2018-11-20
Rated 1 de 5 de par The table just is not close to flat Got the saw home and pulled it out of the box. Set it up on my table to verify it was ready to cut. First was to ensure the blade was square to the table. It was not...I checked the table flatness between the T-slots (12") and found that the table dipped down to the blade 0.034"...So over the 5" from the edge of the T-slot to the edge where the cover plate sits, the table introduces more than a 1/32" error. While this is a "job-site" saw, surely this should be considered unacceptable.
Date de publication: 2017-07-26
Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent table saw! This is my first table saw, and it was worth the wait. This unit is built very well, does everything it says it will, and was very easy for me to use. The design is straight forward. The instruction manual is clear and helpful. I did buy a DeWalt 80 tooth blade for plywood to replace the 24 tooth supplied blade, and replaced the miter gauge as the supplied one rattled in the miter slot and I need all the accuracy I can get.
Date de publication: 2014-01-27
Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Saw This is a great saw for DIYers that are just starting or those that need a portable saw. I find the saw can perform most functions satisfactorily. Problems arise if the saw is used for something other than ripping. The blade height can not be locked and the vibration causes the blade to change height during use. When cutting dados or rabbets this becomes an issue. Without a dado blade it takes longer to cut dados and rabbets that are used in small cabinet building.
Date de publication: 2015-04-29
Rated 1 de 5 de par Quality Issues This does feel like a quality saw and I want this to be good so badly. My guess is that Covid has taken its toll. First, the adjustment for the motor-to-guide rails (that it rides on for blade height) is completely loose, so the motor and blade can shift side-to-side. Second, the nut at the bottom of the threaded rod that spins to raise the blade was completely loose. It is supposed to be snug because the friction is all that keeps the blade from dropping with vibration. the blade drops some every time I start the saw. I've checked three new ones and all are like this. The older display model was set correctly so it's a recent issue. The last one I tried also has a badly cupped table that would cause the blade to get pinched. Dewalt needs to get there stuff together.
Date de publication: 2021-01-17
Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Machine This is a great table top saw. I purchased it to rip finished filler strips for a kitchen cabinet installation. The saw was set up perfectly right out of the box; the fence indicator was perfect with no adjustments necessary. My cuts, using the supplied blade, were exact and very crisp and clean. I also discovered that the saw dust chute fits my shop vac hose perfectly. So far, I am very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very happy with purchase! While I know this is one of dewalts more basic models, this is still the best saw I've owned. I got it on sale for $50 off and didn't go with the model that was $100 that had a stand with it. I spent ten minutes and made a stand that would put the saw at a height I wanted, (I'm 6'2") the saw is light enought that I can take it off the stand and put my planner up there. The saw was a little TOO light and was wanting to move off the stand when running bigger boards through it, but I just ran a couple zip ties through some predrilled holes in the base and attached it to some eye bolts on the bench. Problem solved. Great saw for the money and the rail is really nice!

Rated 5 de 5 de par A masterpiece of design and construction I don't usually do reviews but I felt this table saw warranted comment. In particular I wanted to say that the manufacturers have obviously responded to critical comments about the mitering attachment which was plastic and ill-fitting. It is now all metal and fits snugly in the table-top grooves. The saw was well packed, went together easily and everything fitted, no bit missing. There are so many great features from the accurate fence mechanism to the clever storage of all tools etc on the machine. I have another manufacturer's table saw in the UK which cost more but is nothing like as versatile as this DeWalt.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Outstanding product and design A couple of weeks ago I purchased the Porter Cable Jobsite 10" table saw. After a week I returned it and purchased this saw. Night and day difference! Definitely worth the extra $80. The Dewalt saw is very well made and light enough to carry around. I don't; it sits in my shop. But if that is your need you can't go wrong. What I like about the DWE7480: The fence is awesome. Just incredible to get a fence like this on a saw in this price range. Others have complained about the miter gauge but I find it sufficient. The motor mount and assembly is far superior to the Porter Cable, in that you can't grab the blade at full height and wiggle it from side to side. The Dewalt is tight and true. Also, the blade insert fastens in place securely on the Dewalt. The manual says "dado head use is not recommended." It doesn't say you can't do it. After looking at it, it appears there is enough thread on the arbor to get a 1/2" dado set on it. I plan to give it a shot and make my own insert plate for it. All in all, I am very happy with this saw and I would highly recommend it.

Rated 1 de 5 de par very unhappy I thought I did my homework with this purchase. The saw looks like it's made with great quality - but it's not. The first problem was assembly. The printed instructions are terrible. I found it near impossible to assemble and adjust without the help of youtube. Problem 2 - I was unable to align the blade with the miter gauge slot. The saw has slotted screws to adjust the alignment, but when I shifted the blade, it reached the maximum slot position before the it was aligned. It seems all the adjustability was in the wrong direction and therefore impossible to align. I guess this would be a good saw if you never want to use the miter gauge. Unfortunately for me, I need that function. I'd give this product 0 stars if I could.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent Saw! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Dewalt 10-in Carbide-Tipped 15-Amp Portable Saw is the perfect saw for a beginner or a seasoned professional. Not only is it powerful but includes many accessories other saws do not include. Although it weighs 90 lbs, the weight is evenly distributed and balanced. I was able to single handed put this saw on the back of my 3/4 ton pickup truck easily. This saw fits well in small places and can be used to do cabinetry, framing and trim work with ease. I highly recommend this Dewalt 10" saw.
