the manual suggest to follow procedures for sharpening the chain, but there are no procedures in the manual. Are there specific instructions for sharpening this model chain?

Asked by: chaindull
Thank you for your inquiry. Before sharpening your chain be sure that your chainsaw is unplugged from the power source. The file size should be 5/32”, and we recommend the Oregon 25894 5/32” file with guide and the Oregon 27742 Depth gauge and file guide, for the best results. The chain should be sharpened at a 25-30 degree angle. If you have any further questions or concerns in regards to your tool, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service department at (1866) 354-9679. We will be happy to assist you.

how do I put a chain on this kind of chainsaw??? it fell off thanks

Asked by: jules90
1. Slide the Chain in the slot around the Guide bar. Ensure the Chain is in correct running direction by comparing it to the Chain Direction Symbol found on the saw body. Ensure the Bar Tensioning Plate is facing outward. 2. Fit the Chain onto the Drive Sprocket, so that the Fastening Bar Bolt and the two Bar Locating Tabs on the Bar Clamp fit into the keyway of of the opening on the Guide Bar. 3. Check to see if all parts are seated properly. 4. Fit the Chain Cover ensure that the Chain Catch slides properly into the Chain Cover. 5. Tighten the Chain Cover by turning the Chain Tensioning Knob.

what type of extension cord works with this chain saw?

Asked by: maggielucy
to determine the cord's capacity, it's important to consider the cord length along with the wire gauge. Every extra foot of cord increases the electrical resistance, which decreases the power the cord can deliver to connected devices (The longer the cord the lower the gauge to push the power from end to end.) Because of this, it's best to use a cord that is only as ling as you need. For example, it's inefficient to use a 100-foot cord to power a device that only needs to extend 40 feet from an outlet. We always recommend using 100 feet or less and never plug multiple extension cords into each other. For a 14.5 amp tool a 25-75 foot cord needs to be 14 gauges or lower. A 100 foot cord needs to be 12 gauges.

Worx Electric Chainsaw - 16" - 14.5 A - Black/Orange is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 169.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great electric saw i bought this saw after researching and reading reviews on various chainsaws. I chose to go with electric because i dont often use the saw and need it to work whenever i take it out. Most of my cutting is around the yard so the wire limitation is not an issue. My first cut is a 20 inch tree and this saw didnt have a problem going through it. The only problem i had is having to reajust the chain because the saw debries were building up and causing the chain to get loose. Beside this it was what i expected from an electric chain saw. Happy with this purchase. Ps remember to go and purchase a 50-100ft 14 gauge extension cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm happy I was looking for a saw to break down firewood and pallets for my back yard chiminea. This is perfect! This electric saw is powerful, clean, and quiet. There is no fuel to go bad, as often happens in 2 cycle equipment that is not used on a regular basis, or batteries to fail. This is NOT a suitable tool for cutting mountains of wood, or for use more than 25-50 feet from a good A/C outlet. I've cut around 1 1/2 cords of wood and 15-20 pallets, so far, and I'm still thrilled. The chain tensioner works great if you read and follow the instructions. I suggest pouring the chain oil back into a storage bottle if you're going to leave it sitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Chainsaw Needed a chainsaw to cut a large pine tree that had fallen into my deck and didn't want to spend a huge amount of money as I don't know if I will ever need it again. Was going to buy the Polaun 16" but the reviews were sketchy, saw this at the store and was impressed by the reviews. Chainsaw performed so much better then expected and made quick work of the tree which had a good 14" base. It is a pain dealing with the power cord, but this is normal for electric tools. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive but powerful chainsaw, I would highly recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product Purchased Worx chain saw after recent wind storm damaged my tree. Money tight as it is, the chain saw price, bar and motor size, were attractive for the storm cleanup. Took the saw out of the box, read its directions, filled it with oil, and put it to work. I was impressed with the saws overall performance and its slight "kick" when started. The 14.5 amp motor displayed its value and strength when making large cuts. Keep in mind to check the oil reserve after a few minutes of operation for the saws oil capacity is not generous. Like any electric tool, take your time with it an it will perform well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got the job done I bought this chainsaw after a tree fell down in our yard. After reading reviews I bought this one. All the reviews seem to bear out that this is a good chainsaw. The only problem I had was tripping the breaker when the tree was as thick as the blade itself. If I could have found a 20 amp breaker I would not have had this problem and I plan on finding one in the future. I found out this is not for big trees, but that is not what I got it for, it sliced through 10 inch thick branches and smaller with no problem, it was when it got up to 25 inches thick that the breaker started tripping. I have never used a chainsaw before and I cut up this 50 foot tree with the help of others in two days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I had a few basic level gas powered saws that I have always had trouble to keep running. After reading all of the reviews I decided to go with electric to trim up around my yard and cut a little firewood. It works great. On the second cut it went right through the extension cord like it was nothing. Watch your cord and if you do not have a GFCI outlet outside purchase a GFCI pigtail for about $30 in electrical aisle. Oh by the way, I'm a safety engineer. I'll never hear the end of this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for the Price I read reviews extensively before buying this chain saw. I picked it because of the ratings it was getting and I have to say they were correct. I cut down 3 Blue Spruce with it yesterday (1 - 30 foot, 2 - 20 Foot) and had few issues and those were caused by the user not the saw. This saw cut through and 18" diameter trunk without issues (other than having to roll the trunk for the 14" bar) IT is light and powerful, and has a 2 year warranty (Sears only has 1) I have large hands and the chain break was no problem. I'd seen other posts mentioning current draw and breaker concerns, I ran this on both 15 and 20 Amp circuits without problem. Great product!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great electic saw I bought this saw because two rather large and very old pecan trees I have in my yard started shedding some very large limbs 20 to 30 feet long and about 14" in diameter. I have had 2 electric chain saws in the past that were inferior and lasted about a year each and no where near the power of the Worx. This saw cut through those limbs like it was gas powered. The only draw back I found is that the chain has a tendency to loosen up despite the auto adjustment feature. If you don't need a heavy duty chainsaw don't waste money on the cheaper electric and go straight for this one it cost more but is well worth the difference and I think will last longer that the cheapo's
