Reclaimed wood caged wall sconce

Easy to create, this light fixture is the perfect bedside lamp or living room accent.

Cut the reclaimed wood

  • 1.1 - Using a saw, cut the reclaimed wood into one 1”x6”x6” piece, and one 1”x6”x18” piece.
  • 1.2 - Drill a hole approximately 2” from the top of the smaller piece of wood.

Pro tip

You can use pallets or trims from the cutting room that often end up in our lumber yards. It’s free and good for the environment!

Assemble the wood shelf

  • 2.1 - Screw the 1"x6"x18" piece into the drilled side of the 1"x6"x6" piece.
  • 2.2 - Place the shelf on the wall near an outlet and adjust using a level.
  • 2.3 - Secure the shelf to the wall using drywall screws.

Pro tip

If needed, use wall anchors to ensure that the shelf is properly secured.

  • 3.1 - Install the wall sconce onto the reclaimed wood shelf as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • 3.2 - Slide the plug cap off and remove the wire.
