DIY flexible ducting pumpkin

Create decorative pumpkins for Halloween without having to stick your hands in gunk? It’s possible with this little 30 minute project.

Cut the pipes

  • 1.1 - Using your hands, measure the length needed to create a tight circle with the pipe.
  • 1.2 - Add a few inches to the measurement.
  • 1.3 - Using the wire cutter, cut the metal inside the pipe.
  • 1.4 - Cut the vinyl and aluminum with the scissors.

Pro Tip

The pipe’s diameter will determine the size of the pumpkin.

Assemble the pumpkin

  • 2.1 - Insert one end of the pipe into the other to create a circle.
  • 2.2 - If needed, glue the ends together with hot glue.

Pro Tip

The pipe will hold without glue. A piece of tape can also be used to keep the pipe from slipping.

Paint the pipes

  • 3.1 - Apply the primer on the pipes and let dry according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • 3.2 - Apply spray paint to the pumpkin and let dry.

Pro Tip

Multiple spray paint colours can be used. You can also apply paint with a brush for an interesting look. Let your creativity run wild!

Decorate the pumpkins

  • 4.1 - Decorate with scrap pieces of copper pipe and admire.
