1.1 - Measure and cut the hardboard panel at 23½"x 42".
1.2 - Measure and cut 2 pieces of pallet wood at 23½"x5¼".
1.3 - Measure and cut 2 pieces of pallet wood at 31½"x3½".

Paint the hardboard panel
2.1 - Using a brush, apply chalk paint in the middle of the board.
2.2 - Leave 3" around the edges paint-free.
2.3 - Let dry as recommended by the vendor.

Install the sides
3.1 - Place the cut pallet wood pieces on the ground to form a rectangle.
3.2 - Apply wood glue on the borders of the panel where there is no paint.
3.3 - Place the panel glue-side down on the pallet wood rectangle.
3.4 - Screw the panel into place from the back.
3.5 - Let the glue dry as recommended by the vendor.
4
Install the support
4.1 - Add hinges to an extra piece of pallet wood and screw it into the back of the chalkboard. This will serve as a crutch to keep the chalkboard in a standing position.
4.2 - To hang the chalkboard, screw utility hooks into the top of the board and add the decorative chain.
