Beanbag toss

Playing outside is one of the many joys of summer. This little project will allow the kids (and the adults) to have loads of fun.
1

Measure and cut the wood

  • 1.1 - Measure and cut 2 pieces of 2"x4"x5' to form the left and right sides.
  • 1.2 - Use the scraps of 2"x4"x3' to form the top and bottom.
  • 1.3 - Measure and cut the plywood at 3'x5' to form the top.
  • 1.4 - With the 3rd 2"x4"x8', measure and cut the legs at 10" with a 22.5° angle.
2

Make the hole

  • 2.1 - On the plywood, draw a 7" circle at about 6" from the top of the sheet.
  • 2.2 - Using the jigsaw, cutout the circle.

Pro Tip

To avoid any injuries, sand all the cut edges.
3

Build the base

  • 3.1 - Create a rectangle with the pieces of 2"x4".
  • 3.2 - Check that the base is square and secure the 4 corners with screws.
  • 3.3 - Drill the holes for the bolts that will hold the legs.
4

Add the legs

  • 4.1 - Align the legs in the base and mark the placement of the bolt holes. Drill the holes.
  • 4.2 - Secure the legs onto the base using the bolts, washers, and nuts.

Pro Tip

Make sure the legs are at the same level as the base so that the sheet of plywood is easily installed.
5

Install the top

  • 5.1 - Place the plywood on the base, with the hole at the top where the legs are.
  • 5.2 - Secure in place with screws.
  • 5.3 - Apply a wood sealer to the entire structure, without forgetting the joints.
  • 5.4 - Decorate with outdoor paint if desired.
