WOOD SPADE is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use an above-average drill and hold on tight Needed to run a new circuit and was facing drilling holes in 20 floor joists, some of the doubles. Didn't want to spend all day doing it, so bought this bit on a suggection from a friend at work. Holy schnikies. First tried my 14V Ryobi, beacuse it is my shortest drill to get between the joists with. As soon as the flutes hit the wood, it stopped dead. Charged up the Craftsman 14.4V, it only got about 1/4" into the wood and stopped. Cleaned the cobwebs off my only corded drill, a Craftsman 3 amp, 3/8" chuck. It worked, but really bogged it down. This is the absolute minimum drill one could use with this bit. Even with the low RPMs of a bogged down drill, it about snapped my wrist and still went through the joist in about 3 seconds, with no pushing by me. Almost like I had put a ahotgun up to the wood and blasted a hole through it, no joke. So, use a significant corded drill, and get your wrist locked. Only thing I have to say that's negative, is I wouldn't use this if I wanted a nice, clean exit hole. It broke out some good size splinters on the backside of each joist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pulls too fast This drill bit (7/8" speedbor) was exactly what I needed. The tip functions like a screw and bites into the wood. As it turns the screw tip digs deeper into the wood pulling the bit with it. The bit is sharp and seems to be of very good quality. My only issue is that the tip pulled the bit too fast for my drill. I have a Craftsman 19.2v cordless. The drill easily starts the screw tip into the wood, but it digs too deep too fast for the drill to handle. When the tri-tip cutting blades start cutting the 7/8" hole, it bogs down and stops the drill. I compensated for this by drilling a pilot hole and inserting the screw tip in the hole. Without anything for the tip to bite into, I was able to adjust how much pressure to apply to the cutting blades. It worked quick and easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The cutting edge dulled after < 50 holes bored through pine lumber which was disappointing. I have bore bits that are 15 - 20 years old that still function as they were designed and readily bore through anything they are used. The bit was not worth the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for any drill kit. Absolutely blasts clean holes through lumber. I am an electrician and wire houses on a regular basis. After I have ran through a house with an electric hole hog. I keep this chucked in my hand drill while I am running wires,in case I missed any studs, top plates, etc. I've bout the entire case but I frequently the 3/4 and 7/8. I've drilled several hundred holes with these. They don't like nails very much, but I don't know many bits that do. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than any paddle bit I had to drill thru numerous studs while remodeling and running electrical wiring. After trying a paddle bit of the same size I thought there has to be a better and faster way. The Tri-Flute drill bit drills so fast that you have to back off the forward push a little. I used a regular corded drill but a cordless would work as well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water Oak I bought this to anchor 14” long 7/8” diameter bolts into a solid love water oak tree... not only did it work amazing, but it didn’t clog or anything! Made boring through solid wood a breeze. All you really have to do is hang on to the drill and it does the rest quick. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drill Bit It's a very nice drill bit. It bores quick and clean holes. I was surprised at how it pretty much pulls itself though wood. I'm very happy with the purchase and I would definitely recommend this to a friend, in fact, I already have. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I’ve been in wood working for 40 yrs never came across a bit like this absolutely fantastic! I also have a few to my friends [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
