Side by Side Refrigerator - 25 cu. ft. - Stainless Steel is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 862.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Water Dispenser and ice maker needs improvement Bought this refrigerator August of 2019 when moving to a new home. Ice maker would send a block of ice out onto the floor every time after getting ice. Constantly have water sitting in the tray under water and ice dispenser. Water sitting in the tray streaks down the front of the door causing constant cleaning. Now after 6 months the ice maker has stopped working completely. Technician has been out changed items. It made one batch of ice and quit again. Waiting on his return and he is waiting on direction from Whirlpool. I would not recommend this model. Appliances cost too much money not to last any longer than they do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement. This model needs a lot of improvement. The doors are not even. The indoor ice maker is not a good idea. The ice falls out because the little door does not close fully. If you use the water feature the water that pools runs down the door because there is no raised area to keep it in. There is condensation between the two door all the time. (have called for service twice issue still exist.) The shelfing space in frig is to small. It is impossible to fit anything inside this frig. If you shop for a lot of food this is not the frig for you. The drawers get stuck when opening and closing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy! I bought this to replace my old one that died. It is roomy and I love the shelf on the top that moves to make room for tall items. The door bins are quite spacious. The Pizza pocket is adjustable so it can be folded down when not in use. The icemaker in the door saves room in the room in the freezer. My only objection is that it drops ice and the tray underneath always needs to be wiped dry a few minutes later (not immediately, because it doesn’t happen right away). All in all, I love my new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator freezer! It is very attractive in my kitchen and very useful! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ice maker failed in 2 months Thought we were purchasing a great product, in two months the Ice Maker stopped working shooting water all over the catch bin. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, nice Just don't like the loud ice maker; it'll also drop an occasional cube randomly. Lastly, getting ice often results in getting water if you're not careful with the button you're pushing with glass---the location/angle of the two of these together often has you pushing the water accidentally. All other features are nice: storage, appearance, doors, shelves, drawers pull out nicely in fridge and freezer. We don't use the racks in the door for pop, but I can imagine some would like that. It is very close to what we had for our last one as far as drawers, storage, etc, which we like. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What a disappointment!! The fridge is just 11 months old. It's beautiful, but the ice maker has stopped working. The repairman just left after working on it for over an hour. He tried unsuccessfully to reach Whirlpool's tech line, as he had some questions. He ran diagnostics, and thinks it may be fixed, but isn't sure. I have a feeling this is just the tip of the problem iceberg. I bought Whirlpool because I've always had good luck with the brand for decades. Now after having problems with a new dishwasher and now this new fridge, I would not purchase Whirlpool appliances again. I'd like to have them replace this lemon, but I'm sure they won't.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Badly Designed Ice Maker I am on my second one of these. Whirlpool couldn't find anyone to come out and work on it so they gave me a new one. Well, the new one is doing the exact same thing as the first one. I think Whirlpool has had issues with their ice makers for a long time now. First of all the door to get ice or water is very small. You can't fit a taller cup in there without making a mess. Secondly, ice just hangs up in between where the ice comes out of the holder and melts and leaks down into the tray. Ice cubes randomly fall out on the floor and melt causing puddles on my hardwood flooring. Other than that, I really like the style. I respect the Whirlpool name and have had a lot of their appliances over the years. I will be returning this refrigerator and trying again with another that has a different ice/water configuration. Hopefully I can find something better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice I'm a little disappointed with my new refrigerator. I only buy Whirlpool appliances. They are the best. It's the same size as the side-by-side I bought 20 years ago but I done seem to have as much room inside. The shelves aren't adjustable and the compressor is very loud. The ice and water dispenser on the door is irritating. The ice paddle goes too far back to easily fill a glass and the water paddle is too small. Our 20 ounce glasses don't fit in the dispenser space so we have to keep a smaller glass nearby for dispensing ice. The ice maker "growls" when it's making ice. Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's Nice Purchased this a month ago. It works fine and the design and layout is spacious. Gave 4 stars because the door shelves are a little cheap and flimsy. The ice maker is unpredictable in that on the cube setting some of the ice is crushed anyway. Also when I disengage from the ice maker a few cubes continue to come out and end up on the floor. The water dispenser is finicky and if I disengage from it and remove my glass too soon I get a squirt of water on the floor. It has been a long time since I have purchased a refrigerator so maybe I was expecting more for the price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Refrigerator! We needed a new fridge! It was the first Brand New one we've purchased in 20 years of marriage. They all seemed so similar and all with comparable reviews. We chose this one because of the in-door ice-maker that frees up space for freezer storage. I would have liked a better water filter option (that filters out more things) but the water has been good so far. The drawers seem lighter weight than my previous ones and they're not as smooth pulling out/in as our previous one, but there is plenty of space in this fridge overall. I'm satisfied overall and would purchase again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice refrigerator! Nice fridge for the price. This fridge is not noisy like some of the other reviews claim. Very nicely lit interior. My only disappointment had been that the water filter door keeps popping open and has required a service call. Also the bottom section front grid shows exposed wires - looks like it is missing a piece of trim but we found out that this is how it is suppose to look. Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR. Seriously, just don't. I know the pizza pocket is cute. I know the sliding shelf is cool, but don't buy it. Many of the negative reviews say the fridge is loud. It is not. Some of the bad reviews say the receptacle for water dispensing is too small. That really isn't an issue. However, we have had this refrigerator for 4 weeks and have already had two things break. One was the ice dispenser, the other was the cooling unit for the water. The latter was catastrophic causing our entire fridge to break and we lost all the food inside (right at Christmas, too). I am dreading the thought of what will break next and hoping that Whirlpool will just replace it with an entirely different refrigerator. Just stay away from this one. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice refrigerator We had a Whirlpool refrigerator that lasted for 19 years plus this one got good marks from Consumer Reports. We like it with some exceptions. My wife is a paraplegic so it would have been better if the shelves pulled out and the doors opened a full 90 degrees or even a little more so she could get to things easier. The old whirlpool door opened that far. To be fair we couldn’t find any other brands that opened like that. We did find one that the shelves pulled out but it was not a highly rated brand. It seems that the big sellers have the pull out freezer on the bottom. That was totally unacceptable for my wife to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Water Dispenser / Ice Maker Faulty Ice Maker / Water Dispenser - DO NOT BUY I'll walk through the issues we've had with this refridgerator below: 1. We have had nothing but issues with the ice maker / water dispenser. Like other have said, leftover ice CONSTANTLY gets stuck in the ice chute after getting ice. It will remain in the chute and slowly melt, filling up the condensate catch tray, only melt enough and fall. More often than not, the ice bounces off the condensate catch tray and onto the kitchen floor where it will melt. Because you're not expecting this to be an issue, the common way we've discovered ice has fallen onto the floor is only after stepping on a small pool of water. You're probably thinking, "Wow, it's not hard to make sure all the ice has evacuated the chute." I agree, it's not, not normally at least, but the ice dispenser is very touchy and I've had to dispense more ice than I've wanted to make sure I don't leave any in the chute. More ice isn't an issue by any means because I just throw it in the sink, but the fact that I have to constantly be aware of this is very annoying, so much so that I've resorted to simply opening up the freezer door and manually grabbing ice. 2. Another issue is what another reviewer has said, which is that the water dispenser / ice dispener design are in-line with one another. Frequently when I go to put ice in my 32 oz tumbler, I'll accidentaly hit the water dispenser, dispensing water on the side of my cup and get on the floor as well as my clothes. Again, it's another thing that you must be aware of when filling up your cup. I should have went with the side-by-side water dispenser / ice dispenser design. 3. Another issue is that our ice maker has not worked. I've followed the OEM's troubleshooting manual to the letter myself and one more time with a Whirlpool customer service representative. I've had an appliance repair man out many times to look at and repair the ice maker. I believe that myself and other are experiencing the same issue: the rubber water feed trough and water line freeze up inside and prevent new ice from being made. 4. Additionally, the unit is very loud when it's completing it's normal routines of producing ice (when the icemaker actually worked) and simply removing heat from the inside of the unit. I would definitely NOT recommend this product to a friend or any random stranger. Too much hassle for too much money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Read reviews before you buy! I bought this refrigerator 4 months ago and I've had an issue with the ice maker. Dispenser does not complete dispensing all the ice before shoot closes. If left there, it melts and drips on tray. After contacting Whirlpool, I was told that on page 4 of usage and care guide it says that "Ice may continue to dispense for several seconds after removing the glass from lever." I don't think that the correct resolution for an engineering error. If I had know this was an issue, I would not have purchased this model. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware! I originally reviewed this refrigerator a year ago on 9/29/18, when it was in our house for 24 hrs. This was not the refrigerator I ordered from a local dealer and my husband didn’t want to return it because it’s “just a refrigerator”. I wanted the water and ice dispenser next to each other, not in front of each other.A year later, I can honestly say this is the worst appliance I have ever owned! We only replace appliances when they break, so unfortunately I’m gonna have to deal with this one for awhile. The shelves on the door are plastic and adjustable, but the glass shelves in the fridge are not. When you open the refrigerator door, hold onto it, because it flops open if you let it go. The ice maker ALWAYS drips water/ice. If you get ice, about 5 minutes later a piece of ice will fall out of the dispenser onto the floor(every time). The catch tray always has water in it. We have actually placed a towel in the catch tray under the water and ice dispenser. The water dispenser in front of the ice dispenser is a big design flaw to me. Depending on the size of the cup, when you try to get ice it will hit the water dispenser spraying water onto the floor. My son won’t even use the ice dispenser, he opens the door to get ice( so, what’s the purpose of having an ice maker on the outside of the door?) If I had not been at work when this refrigerator was delivered I would never have accepted it. Unfortunately, my husband did not know what refrigerator I had actually ordered. VERY dissatisfied with this refrigerator!!! Should have stood my ground with the hubby and returned it the Monday after it was delivered. The dealer swore this was the one I ordered, even though the one I wanted cost $400.00 more than this one. Wish I had saved the text message to the Local/independent/small dealer, that had the model number of the one I wanted! I don’t think I’ll ever purchase another whirlpool product. READ all the reviews before you buy this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comparison to older whirlpool refrigerator Unhappy with new whirlpool refrigerator. My older model (25yrs old and still works fine) chilled the water to the dispenser. This model does not. Ice dispenser is noisier and seems to hang up ice cubes causing drips and water to continually run down the front of the frig. A good thing about the frig was that the width of it stayed the same allowing it to fit in a very tight area. Other refrigerators were wider in comparison to capacity. I have always been a whirlpool fan as my past purchases have held up so long. I hope Whirlpool uses this info to improve their product. Why do you need a nickname for this? That is stupid!!! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Early thoughts on the refrigerator I just purchased one of these refrigerators so my review is basically my first reactions from the fridge. First, I like the features and look for the price. Whirlpool has a pretty good reputation of their refrigerators from what I could find in my research for a new one. I like the ice in the door, this opens up the freezer space quite a bit. Though, this means it doesn't have a very large ice bin. The cubes are smaller and not the half moon size of our last fridge. Roughly 1" square cubes Time will tell if this is good or bad. The fingerprint resistant finish seems to work fine so far. There is a couple unique features on the shelves, one in the fridge, one in the freezer, that help with taller items like a pizza box. I won't be using either of these features and actually removed the adjustable shelf in the fridge. There are a few negatives I found right off the bat. First is that it is loud. Not hurt your ears loud, but annoying loud, even when we are sitting a room or two away from it, the humming is pretty noticeable. Next, the fridge part of it, the shelves are not adjustable? That was almost a deal breaker to us, since we had a couple items we keep in the fridge and are taller than normal. We "get by" by removing one of the shelves completely, but this leaves a fairly large wasted space above those items. I really still can't believe anyone would be a refrigerator without adjustable shelves? Next, the opening for the ice and water is tiny, you will not get a larger container in for ice, like an exercise bottle. Also the water spicket itself is way out in front of the opening. So once you get done filling your glass, the water drips and runs right down the front of the fridge. We just basically leave a small towel sitting in the opening to catch the drips. Lastly the drawers are not designed well at all, they grind and are not smooth at all when you pull them out and push them back in. I am about to use some pledge or wax to see if that helps, but another annoyance. We had a list of specific things we wanted to find a refrigerator, this one checked most of the boxes. Truth be told, we liked a different one better but that brand did not have fingerprint resistant finishes, so this one won out. I will try to update this review after we get down the road with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I don’t know We’ve kept our previous refrigerators for years so this is my first new one in over 15 years. We bought it at a furniture store and we liked the look and the size. The disappointments are the motor runs very loud, the ice machine leaves a watery mess in the tray and the ice maker is extremely loud when getting ice. I guess this is what we get for buying a lower price point model but if we had done our research we would not have bought it. Other than that it good job of keeping food cold. We will learn to live with the problems as it’s not worth the hassle of a return but we’re disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will never buy again Have owned Frigidair for years with not one issue. Had to buy a whirlpool since all the other appliances the builder put in were Whirlpool. Exactly 13 months after purchase my ice maker stops working. Now thinking back it's been leaking for some time and producing less and less ice but I thought it was my roommates making a mess while getting water and using more ice since it's summer we use it more. So now i have to call a technician and pay out of pocket to get it fixed. Don't waste your money [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from large freezer storage I purchased this model because the water dispenser & ice maker are in the door freeing up space in the freezer. That is great. The refrigerator side holds quite a bit both on shelves & door. Where I am disappointed is the flimsy drawers. I have another Whirlpool side by side in my second home and the drawers are much more substantial. I need to put a rug under the water/ice dispenser to catch runoff no matter careful I am. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very loud This is the loudest refrigerator I have ever owned. The expectation is that with each new generation of appliance there is refinement, particularly in terms of noise of operation. That's not the case here; this machine hums away. The lighting is LED but skimpy in on the freezer side. The pizza slot is ridiculous: who stores a pizza on it's side?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sometimes I Think Theres a Ghost In My House. I believe we've had this fridge for close to a year. The ice maker is a little loud, but it's not terrible. The only problem I have with this refridgerator is that everytime i use the ice dispenser, some how 1 - 2 pieces of ice will get stuck it the rotating part. Which means every time this happens, and those pieces of ice start to melt and get smaller, they fall out of the dispenser. So now theres a scary noise, and you don't know where it came from. Go to follow said sound and you step in a puddle from that melted ice cube. I would say this happens every other time we use the ice dispenser.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent service! The men that installed my refrigerator were so very efficient, They did a very good job. There was only one little fluke. When my ice maker was making ice that first day, there was a leak on the floor under that part of the refrigerator. I shut off the ice maker and called the dealer, Associated Appliance Sales. They sent Brian out to fix it and he found the problem and it was fixed. He even left a plastic tray under that area to be sure no water on the floor, if it leaked, which it didn't. Other than that, it is a beautiful machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised When our fridge went out unexpectedly and we had to run out and get a new one asap I couldnt do much research. This whirlpool is wonderful. Its a darker color than we had but looks good. Its quiet, fits perfectly, and has lots of room. I love the teo door setup with the freezer on the side. The old one had a drawer, not as user friendly as you would think. Im still getting used to the crushed ice but it is wonderful for margaritas. It even uses less energy than the old one.Perfect fridge, hopefully we will get another 20 years from this one! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great We’ve had this fridge for about 4 months now. The light for the water outside the fridge is lower than the spout, so in the dark, the light doesn’t help unless your filling up a clear glass. Don’t fill up a kids thermos or another cup that is not clear, or you’re just guessing when it’s full...and probably spilling. The ice door is hard to get your hand behind to turn ice off/on unless you have small arms/hands. My wife has to turn it on and off because I can’t get my arm behind it unless I want to take entire ice holder completely out of fridge door. Keeps food cold, so that’s good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The style refrigerator we wanted. Purchased in January. Delivered January 31, 2020 waited three weeks. After delivery and installed the icemaker did NOT work. Had service man first time take ice maker out and put new one in. Never checked to see if water came in or would make ice. Left. Came again after several calls causing lots of stress. Discovered wire inside door must be broke or something. Need new door, can order can be up to six (6) weeks getting another one for this refrigerator. NOT acceptable!! After calling where purchased and waiting on them to make up if they would replace refrigerator for a week. We then contacted Whirlpool who approved replacement . Thanks so much. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice refrigerator BUT! This refrigerator is beautiful and very spacious but there are some quality issues. The door gasket on the refrigerator side is loose and there are several places where the spray foam insulation wasn't cleaned up around the edges. In addition the toe kick cover doesn't cover the wires and hoses at the bottom of the doors. It came with this odd wire rack for the door with no pics or instructions for what it does. I have received many compliments from my friends on how beautiful it is and I have to agree. If it weren't for these quirks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good storage capacity Bought this refrigerator to replace a 4 year old Kenmore Elite whose compressor failed. So far, this is a good replacement with only minor issues. For example: the plastic drawers seem cheaply made (perhaps from cost cutting); the first glass or two from the water dispenser is not cold-have to run a couple glasses before water gets cold. For personal preference, we chose the side-by-side model. The freezer is narrow but deep and holds lots of product. This has a nice feature Of a ‘pizza box’ that allows the storage of several frozen pizzas on their edge. Most side by sides can’t fit frozen pizzas except diagonally which wastes a lot of space. Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s a frige. We wanted something simple, but a No Ice, No Water frige was a special order. We chose this one because it was fairly basic. One problem I have found is that the water dispenser is located very far out front for filling larger bottles, so when it drips, it drips directly on the floor. Also the drip tray is very shallow. If a cube of ice gets caught in the channel and melts, it fills the tray up. Other than these small things, it’s OK so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
