Touch screen doesn't react to touch
Have had this unit for a while and since new the touch screen frequently doesn't reacts to touch without multiple repeated attempts, it maters not when either waking the touchscreen, entering the unlock code, nor locking. Most times it takes many attempts for it to receive/react to our touch. We've tried different fingers, finger angles, touch pressure but nothing seems to make any difference. Usually I give up and dig out my key. Perhaps its a battery issue a lot of the time but even with new batteries I'm not sure I notice a difference. Have emailed Weiser support for suggestions; lets see what they say.

Chews through batteries like crazy
We bought this unit at Lowes. I was surprise that the instructions were paperless but it wasn’t that difficult to install. My only complaint about this product is that it absolutely destroys batteries. The batteries that were supplied were already dead out of the box and I find myself changing batteries within 1 week if replacing them at best. Another perfect example is that I changed the batteries (using brand new Duracell out of the package) at noon today and by 10pm, the unit was flashing amber. Just now I deleted the app from my phone in hopes that the communication will stop and it will slow the death of the batteries.
We usually read reviews online before purchasing but this was an in-store decision. Had I read that the batteries would die within a week, I would not have purchased it.

Not completely satisfied
The electrical lock looks really nice on my door but when the sun heats the door the lock doesn’t work properly. Often I’ll say in front of my door locked outside as the touch screen wouldn’t work at all, I guess it’s needs to cool down and then I can use it to open the door. Its really frustrating, I kinda regret buying it I was better of with the old one

Looks great but unreliable
Batteries only last about 2 weeks, so carry your keys at all times. We have three locks so 24 batteris a month.
One lock has significant delay, up to 10 seconds before it will allow the screen to respond. Told this is normal and acceptable.
Have never been able to connect to my Apple TV.
The 3 tiny screws are difficult to remove and put back each time I have to replace the batteries. Worried they will soon be stripped how often I have to take them in and out.
Love the look of the lock, but it just doesn’t work effectively.

How it works
I’ve had a couple of Premis locks for a while now and am writing to clarify the operation of the keypad lock. First, press on the keypad and hold until the 2 digits display. Second, press on each of the 2 digits and the full keypad will
appear. Third, key in the code and the door will unlock. It’s a bit clunky at first but then becomes second nature. I use the keypad most often, but the lock can also be operated using the app or a key.

No Android App
Bought this lock because it looks really nice but only works with Apple Home Kit, no Android app. Called Weiser and they said that without Apple Home Kit the lock is useless so had to return.

Buyer Beware Flawed Design w/Infuriating result
Here is the list of problems you will experience if you purchase this product:
1. Battery Life: 3-4 weeks at most and it results in the door unable to lock.
2. Once the battery is dead you will see that it requires removing the back, replacing the batteries and resetting the passcode etc.
3. The app is almost completely worthless based on problems the lock has communicating with the app. Even battery life is incorrect on the app when the lock won’t open with a dead battery.
4. The touchpad will work 50% of the time and never when you have something in your hands and only have a finger available.
5. During daylight the keypad is washed out and has no bright setting to overcome sunlight.
6. If the touchpad is in the sun it will eventually weaken in summer sun and crack the “glass” making it even harder to deal with. Weiser provides no info or support to fix.
7. If you are still not convinced with the first 6 problems simply call Weiser customer support which is shared with 2-3 other product lines and will make you wish you were calling the cable company.

Awesome lock
Tested it out in my house for a month combined with an Apple TV before I moved it to my rental property. This thing is easy to manage, sends instant notifications, and makes it easy to rotate codes for each tenant.
