RJ45 part needs to be better
I bought this to have an RJ45 and an RJ11connection in one wall plate. It's the right product from the front, but from the back this is from a different era. RJ11 part is fine. RJ45 part seems to be for a 4 line analog phone using an RJ45 connection, and not for a modern computer data connection using the RJ45 connector.
The colours of the cables do not match those found in CAT5e / CAT6 cables, but are the old phone colours. There are no instructions on how to match the old phone colours (red/green, black, yellow etc) to the new ethernet colours (blue/white-blue, green/white-green etc). For RCA, Don't just write "match colours" when you know the colours won't match.
Also for data, far too much cable is hanging out behind the plate untwisted. Can this product support gigabit ethernet through that RJ45 jack? 10G ethernet? It really should have the keystone+punch down style connector for the data jack. That is the proper modern connector for data. Can you stock such a product? I'd buy it over this if you had it.
Perhaps label this product as one single line analog phone (RJ11) and one 4 line analog phone (via RJ45) and keep the phone/computer combo plate for another product that uses keystone +punchdown connectors?
I'll give it a go, do the best I can with this and see if it works like it should at the data speeds I expect.
