Tungsten Carbide Cutter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for mechanics I bought this a week ago. I needed to take a rusted nut off of a sway bar link end ... ya, that's right. You know what I'm talking about. I used the bit to flatten the shaft of the old ball joint SO THAT I could snap a pair of vice grips on it SO THAT it wouldn't twist while heaving on the rusted-on nut. It worked! Most importantly, the bit chewed off the steel to create the flattened surfaces I was looking to create. Limited space. Chewed it away like a cheese grater. This bit eats through steel. I'm going to try it for cutting away rusted steel for body work next. I'm imagining it will work even slicker for that application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for cutting thru hard metal While working on my Ford F150 I ran into a Pilot bearing that was stuck in the crank shaft of my engine. The middle of the pilot bearing came out using the blind hole bearing puller but the bearing race was stuck in the crank. No amount of coaxing with the bearing puller would pull it out. I read on the F150 blog to try a tungsten carbide drill bit. I was skeptical at first and I heard it breaks easily so I sprayed WD 40 and went in slow bursts. There was some chatter if you did not hold it tight and I let it cool off and sprayed wd 40 often. After about 15 minutes I had cuts that were on either side of the bearing race. With a screwdriver I was able to pop out the bearing race easily. The tool worked like a champ! it would have taken hours to cold chisel that out manually. Thanks Dremel and lowes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works well Used this to grind a door lock catch for the dead bolt(the catch in the door jamb). Took very little time to ground down about 1/8" of the metal. If you have a dull bit it takes a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grinder ripping I use this bit for grinding and hogging out brass and steel and there is not another bit that I have tryed that works so good. It is a must have bit for anyone serious.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 1/8-inTungsten Carbide Cutter although the item is meant for all sorts of cutting, it didn't fair well with the sheet-metal component that we had used it for. The Bit broke after just starting the project. I'm confident that the bit would work in other intended projects, just not the one we had intended it for.. I still give it a well deserved thumbs up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK PRODUCT I've noticed that when you use this carbide cutter on hard woods as stated it s used for, it still tends to clatter even used at a high speed rather than a smooth cut into the wood. However it is still a good piece to have in your collection to get certain tasks accomplished.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Carbide bit Has a tendency to gum up when using on aluminum. Works well on steel. Can grab and bounce of you don't keep control. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need this for metal cutting in tight spaces! I bought this last week and used it to cut thru hardened steel sheeting with very limited space. It worked well, but cut thru in VERY tiny pcs. (be sure to wear gloves and glasses, grit goes everywhere!). This works well, but slowly, take your time, it works!.
