Poor quality control
The first one the drawers were stuck closed. The lever to unlock the drawers would not unlock them, it felt like it wasn't connected to anything. Exchanged it for another one, this time one of the drawer slides was riveted in place but the tab was not in the groove so I had to drill out the rivet, install the slide tabs into the grooves on the drawer, then put another rivet in. Craftsman does not have the quality it once had. I'm 42 and I've bought craftsman tools and boxes my entire life just like my dad did but now I buy other brands, its pretty disappointing.

Nice USA Craftsman Quality
The soft close drawers with a 100 pound rating are very nice, the top is spacious and the locking lever is easy to operate and get to to keep all the drawers locked. Paint appears to be durable and no sharp edges or corners.
Because Lowes is no Sears, your box will "unboxed" and sitting out on display getting scratched and the keys may be missing, check before you have to load it into a shopping cart yourself. I saw many damaged, and some missing keys.

Nice looking, but..
Nice looking box, but a few pieces of metal have jagged razor like edges, that would cut the skin badly (mainly noticable on the metal retainer plate that the power cord goes through, on the back of the box.) And, to my dismay, one of the pull out drawers sticks badly and makes a crack sound when opened and closed. Its some kind of issue with one of the drawer buffers/closer things, and requires high effort to open. I don't know how to rectify it at a glance..
I'm not overly happy, but at the same time I don't feel like driving all the way back to return it.
I feel that the price was a little bit high, and the quality isn't there, on my example, at least.

Great box for the money
I chose this box because it is made in America. Craftsman has changed the red color slightly from the older boxes I already own. The new red really pops. The electrical outlets provide an easy way to keep my power tool batteries charged and ready to use. I especially like the fact they provided USP ports to keep my phone charged. This box has the 100 pound drawer rating. I have filled it up with tools with now issues. The soft close drawer feature is very welcome. Not an expensive professional box, but works great in my garage.

Top A Little Uneven/Grounding
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good home garage tool chest that sits atop one of the Craftsman rolling chest's.
The only things I don't like is 1- the top doesn't close evenly, and no you can't adjust the gas operated struts to even it out. This point is a little picky, not that big a deal, just bugs me.
2- You have to ground the chest to an "appropriate grounding location". I called Craftsman to ask about this and they transferred me to the company that actually builds these and the rep said it's not really necessary. However, my electrician said the reason for this is if any wiring gets loose or frayed from inside the power strip and touches the box, you could get shocked. So I used the materials they list in the instructions and grounded the box into the outlet it's plugged into.

I’ve been a craftsman guy my whole life.... along with my father and grand fathers. I was a little worried about the whole buy out that happened with craftsman but this tool chest did not dissapoint me. I like the quality, it feels sturdy and does hold alot! The soft close drawers are nice, but i could live without that feature as well, as it makes them a little harder to open...but that’s okay. Actually, having drawers that are a little harder to open tends to keep little fingers out of sharp tools. It also locks to help with keeping kids out. I also bought a base caninet to go with it, so i have more room than i need... for now. I also really like the top space with the charging outlets and USB outlets. Now my cordless batteries and tools are always ready to go. In many ways, having a chest like this saves me time... im not going through my 15 tool boxes trying to find the right tool anymore. Its all in one place. Its a good purchase and one i wont need to make again.

Disappointed:(
The very bottom drawer of the box was scraping on the bottom edge of the cabinet because the bottom edge of the cabinet was not bent properly. If I didn’t live as far away from Lowe’s as what I do I would have taken it back. If you have a craftsman lower box and you want to get an upper box to match then you might wanna take a chance on this but if you’re looking for a new lower and upper then maybe you should look someplace else. I ended up beating on their box with a hammer to bend the edge so that the drawer wouldn’t hit. I really expect that from craftsman.
