looks great but........
i have just bought two of these items. very easy to put together but........ you need to be the bionic human to crank it up!
It most certainly needs the weights advised to keep it standing as it is very very top heavy! Do not try to skimp on that!
i am waiting to see just how strong a breeze it can take .......else it’s back to the store it goes. there is no way you can crank it up and down easily if a wind develops.
I also found, as much as I love the netting concept, which is one of the reasons I bought it, when down it’s one big mess unless the netting is removed each time!
I do think it is overpriced but that’s just my opinion.
Got no discount for buying 2:(

Does the job, kinda
We bought this last summer and some days its great but most days the slightest breeze causes it to blow out of place. With the netting on you are constantly getting tangled up in it when the wind blows it around. It's a great price when on sale, but you get what you pay for for sure. We do still enjoy it on calm days/nights. The lights are a nice addition. You also need to remember to buy patio stones to weigh it down. Due to the lip on the ends of the stand legs we found that the fillable water/sand weights available for purchase were too large and couldn't be used - just something to keep in mind that would have saved us an extra trip if we had known.

Great product if you use your brain
Bought this last summer and still going strong and pretty.
The use and set up of this umbrella is very logical. -The picture doesn't show a base so buy a nice heavy base or screw it on your deck.
- It's cantilever so be mindful of where you put it. Wind will make it move.
- on sale at 140$ they're still making money on it so understand that the materials are basic. With that said, if used right it is sturdy enough to last a good while.
- Don't force the pieces. If it doesn't go, check the directives and restart.
We had it open all summer so far and only close it when there's a strong storm coming in. This is a good product for the price.

Ended up buying this on a whim because the one i ordered online could not be found in store (it was the last one). So far it seems about right for the price. All parts were there. Bug screen had lots of strings that had not been trimmed off still attached. But overall a good buy and decent product.
However! can anyone tell me what the appropriate weights are for this product? I purchased one in store but it turns out the base on this umbrella has tabs at the end of the cross pieces. So the generic ones wont fit. Worst case i will have to cut those off. But i don't really feel like cutting up a new purchase.

We bought this umbrella a year ago and we are very happy with it. It was easy to assemble and seems to be of decent quality. The solar lights are a nice touch at night and the netting Velcro’s on with zip closure on all 4 sides. No complaints after using it for a year. The dark grey colour hasn’t faded and we’ve left it uncovered all season. We did store it for the winter though. We got it on sale for $139 and think it was good value.

I don't even know where to begin with how bad this product is. First of all, one of the nettings had a hole in it, ok, well it was at the bottom so I was not going to make a major fuss over it. then when we got it setup there were not blocks for the base, not that I mind, but it would have been nice to know this. After 2 nights of use, we thought we would take it back and even kept the box. The store refused to take it back saying it was on sale "and we should be thankful for the deal". I am beyond DISAPPOINTED over this and I would not recommend it to anyone!

Easy to assemble, no base blocks!
I bought this few days ago I will try to update my review as time goes, so far: it's rigid, easy to assemble but came with no base blocks which makes it usless, I used some mulches bags but it's really big and heavy so kept tilting dangerously! I will buy blocks (which basically cost 50% of what I paid for the umbrella itself!)
The instructions are in illustration only, no narration or any online material - I have a question/doubt about fixing the main shaft in the base and couldn't find any support, the number provided is for Rona not the manufacturer and it's a general one -not even for customers support! I'll go back to the shop and see the displayed model for my doubts, and buy some base blocks

Not bad, not fantastic either
Had to buy this unit sight unseen as they don't put it on display. It only has a one year warranty and I would be surprised if the canvas lasts more than that. Some stress points are already thin. There are only 4 bolts for assembly and the wrench is provided. The unit is either thin sheet metal or plastic. Raising and lowering the beam is not child's play and needs some coordination and strength. Follow the instructions exactly or it will break.
DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE COUNTER BALANCE!
The unit has no way of supporting the weight of the beam once it is extended. You must bolt it to your deck or use patio stones to keep it from tipping over. I was surprised how much counter balance it needed.
Did not purchase this unless it is on sale and in my case was during a tax free promo. Definitely not worth full price plus tax.
As with all offset umbrellas, you have to be aware of any pending storms and collapse the unit before the wind hits.
