Small Squirrels -- Not medium to big
I have squirrels in the attic. I bought this trap -- and successfully caught two of the squirrels. The trap kept going off, and I kept resetting it. Finally, I put a camera in the attic to see what was happening. The remaining two squirrels are medium/big size (just regular grey squirrels). They are a bit too big for the trap. They go in, nibble on the food, and when the trap goes off, they are able to get out fast enough. I think it's because the trap is just a bit too small, and their tail keeps the door open long enough to zip out.
Otherwise, great product -- caught the two smaller squirrels within two days. I'll need a bigger trap for the medium/bigger squirrels.

Worked perfectly with unshelled unsalted peanuts
The person who said if you can't catch a squirrel with this you are not doing it right was spot on. I read the reviews and took the advise of using unshelled unsalted peanuts. The squirrels get up on my deck and run across the rail. I placed a few peanuts along the rail on either side of the trap. I also used the suggestion of getting a wire tie that comes with plastic garbage bags and used that to secure two peanuts to the release. I placed the trap out the evening I got it.
First thing in the morning there was a little "skippy" in the trap. I put a dash of orange paint on his tail and took him 3 miles away. I've reset the trap and am waiting on my next volunteer!

Works Great
I purchased 2 traps as I had an infestation of chipmunks. The first week I averaged 4/day using peanuts as bait. I started suspecting they were returning as fast as I was catching them. I was releasing about a mile from home. I started marking their tails with some red paint to find out. 4 weeks now and have caught 65 with 13 red tail returnees. Am now relocating about 2 miles away and am now only averaging 2 every couple days and no returnees yet. Been quite a bit of fun and learned a lot about the little critters. The traps have worked super !

Chipmunks be gone
I bought this and in a day and a half, have caught 5 chipmunks.
using it with simple sunflower seeds, pB works, but figured that just seeds alone was working too.
chipmunks tend to be active early morning and evening (at least during summer) so getting most of my catches at those times.
did not work out of the box, I had to bend the trap wires outward a bit to make it work, cause it was just getting locked and the doors would not fall. you have to bend them outwards so that the wires dont get tangled with each other
I think for what it is, it should be cheaper, I would have bought 3-4 but will have to go 1 by 1, because dont thnk the price is low enough for that

Really good size trap!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have other traps like this but this trap is the perfect size for most of you common critter problems ! I really like that both sides can be set to trap the animal! Set up is very easy just read the instructions and your good to go Just take your time setting the bait I use peanut butter for mice it's so sticky that the animal has to fiddle with it for a while and causes the trap to spring shut quickly I am a big animal lover and so my concern for a no hurt trap is of high priority to me .This trap works just perfect and is safe to put in your car or truck to relocate the critter safely It is made out of galvanized metal so I assume it will last a very long time like my other traps! it's very well made and works flawlessly ! I'm glad i got it

Excellent Purchase
So we had a mouse get into our house, and after trying several different humane traps, I finally purchased this one. At first, I was getting discouraged .... we tried several different baits including peanutbutter, but non of them worked. I finally found something that worked like a charm ---- CornBread (Thank you GreenMile and Mr Jingles for the thought) and threw in an apple core for good measures.
Set one side of the trap only, and placed the cornbread just past the pressure pad on the closed end. Tonight I have successfully relocated the little guy to the woods.

This is a great trap
If you're not catching squirrels right away, you're doing it wrong. I caught as many as six in a day and the only slowdown was driving the little chump across town to the big park. Peanut butter and jelly works great. Keep one door closed and catch 'em in the back.
Drape an old towel over the whole thing before carrying him away to keep the squirrel from banging himself around trying to get out while carrying. No point in hurting them.

Works great
Even though I read many reviews that stated the trap wouldn't catch squirrels, I decided to give it a try anyway. I found it to work great. Peanut butter works great and so do nuts. I found the tip from a previous rewiew of tying a large shelled nut to the back of the cage to work great. Follow instructions carefully when setting trap and it will work fine. One of the most important tips is, the user has to be more intelligent than the animal.
